The message I get from this article is that the default natural state for artists is to regularly interact with the public/fandom, and any other behavior from the artist is out of the ordinary. Maybe it\\\'s just because I\\\'m an introvert with social anxiety, but I find this notion to be kind of odd. I feel like an artist\\\'s interaction with the public should be viewed as a privilege, not an expectation.
