Ok, IIRC Navi has four lines total (Hey, Watch Out, Look, Listen). The middle two are enemy lock on cues nobody remembers, \\\"Hey\\\" is a generic message popup, \\\"Listen\\\" is reading a message. For things Navi locks onto, you\\\'re right about a delay while you hit Z to actually put the lock on, but \\\"Hey\\\" is also the message for general quest hints; you can answer those instantly, which is where the classic \\\"Hey, listen!\\\" variant comes from, as most people just press C-up as an immediate response to \\\"Hey.\\\"

Probably the best case for BeamMeUpScotty would be Navi says \\\"Listen!\\\" on its own \\\'\\\'way\\\'\\\' more often than she says the two together (she does it for every single \\\"there\\\'s a trap / thing here\\\" dungeon hint, which you \\\'\\\'can\\\'t\\\'\\\' ignore), but I don\\\'t think it\\\'s a particularly solid claim that she never says \\\"Hey, Listen!\\\" just because there\\\'s a player action required to get her to say it.
