The Conscience bit at the end seems to be misconstrued. That character did NOT have his conscience erased, it\\\'s mentioned that the Director suspects only experience, not memory, could do so. The procedure the Director is talking about is having that character kill hundreds of people, not the mind-wipe. The mind-wipe is just a standard one.
