I actually associate Darker and Edgier with the 90\'s in the big way - you\'ve got the NinetiesAntiHero trope, the DarkAge of Comics, [[Grunge grunge rock]], MortalKombat, Gen X cynicism all over the place. I associate the Millennium with [[Reconstruction Reconstructions]] and a lot of works that respond to the 90\'s Darker And Edgier trend with a sense of defiant fun and optimism. The 90\'s gave us {{Spawn}}, the Millennium gave us {{Seaguy}}. The 90\'s gave us NeonGenesisEvangelion, the Millennium gave us TengenToppaGurrenLagann. In 1991, WhiteWolf started [[WorldOfDarkness the World of Darkness]] with \'\'Vampire: the Masquerade\'\'; in 2001, White Wolf published the first edition of {{Exalted}}.
