Firstly: while the listed BMWs are cool bikes, BMW does not present the some level of iconic memetic coolness as a Harley, a Triumph or a Ducati. The layperson may not even be aware that BMW makes bikes, and among the motorcycle fraternity of Anglophone countries at least they are very much still viewed as the preserve of middle-aged men. The sheer, pants-shitting insanity of the S1000RR may soon push BMW into pop-culture Cool Bike territory, but it\'s not there yet.

I plan on rewriting this dot-point to correct these two points (perhaps making a separate point for the S1000RR if one doesn\'t already exist - I forget) and just wanted to hold off to make sure no one objects to my plan, as I know just how sensitive people can be about others opinions on motorcycle coolness.
