Okay, I hate the \
to:
Okay, I hate the \\\"SingleIssueWonk\\\" most. It implies an irrational reaction to a minor thing. The issue of America is not a minor thing, it is a very important issue with political, social and ideological ramifications, at least in this side of the Language Barrier. So I would like you didn\\\'t compare us with Fanboys/Fangirls who can\\\'t get over their ship was sink.

Second the last paragraph sounds to me like the Editor making excuses to justify being right. And I think it\\\'s important to point out that America was named after Amerigo Vespucci, the cartographer who realize the landmass was a new continent and not Asia; that happened about a century and a half before the reference given in the article for the name of the British Colonies, and about a century before the Arrival of the Mayflower and the founding of the Thirteen Colonies
And this isn\\\'t an argument because I don\\\'t know, but I\\\'m pretty sure Spain also called their colonies \\\"America\\\"
