to:
I personally don\\\'t think that being able to get out of the Avatar State without animal companion is \\\"tough\\\". In fact, I don\\\'t believe that Katara haas something to do with that. At least not directly.

If Katara has something to do with that, it\\\'s only because the spirits understand it\\\'s not a good idea to mess with the Avatar\\\'s crush/love interest. I have a theory: Aang may be the bridge between spirit and human world but sincerely? I don\\\'t think that having the Avatar Spirit control your body for an extended amount of time is good for your health, no matter how \\\"born with it\\\" you are. You also have to consider that Aang is twelve. If people wait until one is sixteen or fourteen (can\\\'t remember exactly) to tell them they are the Avatar, there\\\'s got to be a reason. What\\\'s more, being in that state makes the Avatar vulnerable. I don\\\'t think it even wants to stay for any longer than it\\\'s needed. So as soon as the danger is gone? It leaves as well.

Zuko already knows. In fact I don\\\'t think that Katara having suffered is reason enough for the spirit to manifest itself. If that was the case, I think that it would manifest much more than it already has. If she were to die... that\\\'s another matter to consider.

I think that Zuko knew she wouldn\\\'t die, at least to a certain extent. If the Water Tribe was about family and community, whose realtionship\\\'s primes over you? Towards the one who isn\\\'t born from your village, no matter how much you consider them to be part of the family, or towards your mother? Mmmh, hard decision, really. Not.

Also, you have to consider Zuko\\\'s point of view about Katara and Aang: Katara is ready to see everybody in the Fire Nation die unless something happens, while Aang wants to save every soul livig in the world. Better cut of the loses before it\\\'s to late and they suddendly open their eyes about each other years later.

Aang must learn that nothing is black and white, or more like nothing is white from the beginning and people are cruel in the right conditions. What better way to teach him that than to take off the veil over his eyes about the person he idolizes the most? The same with Katara. She sees Aang as her family? Well she better fess up and accept him with his faults. Namely, he doesn\\\'t understand what family is. He think having no family is cool.

Something we saw in class not so long ago? Children taken from their families, no matter that this happens the moment they are born, never ever feel completely right. There was a person who carried you for nine months and even if you weren\\\'t able to understand you could hear people\\\'s voices. And that creates a connection, no matter how frail. Wonder what made the Airbenders think they were above everybody else? Because they had no ties? They are no more than the greatest hypocrites in the world.

But no matter. Point being, Zuko has no concrete reason to fear for his life, at least from that angle. If Katara acts, Aang is going to believe she wanted/wished to do that because she likes it and his little heart will shatter. Every child has their heart \\\"shattered\\\" when young, in the sense that the person you imagined to be a hero (mom and dad) are no more different than you, and you are disappointed and you translate that by anger or pain. It\\\'s time for him to grow up. Because if he doesn\\\'t soon, I wouldn\\\'t want to be around in whatever place he\\\'s planning on creating. And I understand he\\\'s twelve years old and he shouldn\\\'t suffer like that. But why is it that NOBODY is doing something about it? Oh right, because he is the Avatar

Zuko suicide? When pigs fly. Fire Nation sees no use on suicide. You fucked up? You stay right there and DO something about it. And he isn\\\'t smug, he\\\'s arrogant. Not the same thing. And I think you are exaggerating with the lunatic. Although you aren\\\'t far from the truth. In a human definition I suppose.

You really don\\\'t like Zuko or the Fire Nation do you?
