It\\\'s extremely clear that House leads with intuition. In addition to his trademark epiphanies and lightning-fast wit, House prefers the sort of \\\"kick the bees nest and analyze it afterward\\\" approach to the world that is common with [=ENTPs=]. Dominant Ne leads them to crave that sort of intellectual mischief, which is why they end up portrayed as tricksters and troublemakers.

[=INTPs=], on the other hand, lead with thinking, which in fiction makes for a sort of Spock-like, passively \\\"robotic\\\" character with bent towards intellectual precision. An example of this would be Dr. Manhattan from Watchmen, who frustrates his girlfriend (an ISFP) by drifting steadily out of touch with humanity as he devotes himself constantly to studying particles and such.

We can also look at inferior functions to tell the difference. [=ENTPs=] have inferior introverted sensing (Si), which leads them towards misanthropy and at their worst moments causes them to withdraw and become depressed with the belief that nothing ever changes. [=INTPs=], on the other hand, have inferior extroverted feeling (Fe), which makes them flatly unexpressive and unemotional and at their worst moments leads them to go along with other people\\\'s beliefs glibly rather than analyze them impersonally as they usually would. Greg \\\"everybody lies\\\" House obviously has inferior Si.

The only reason I can see for wanting to type him as INTP is out of a mistaken understanding of what introversion and extroversion mean. Extroversion does *not* mean \\\"people person\\\" in the Myers-Briggs theory, even though it usually does in everyday speech. Myers-Briggs introversion means reacting first and foremost to the outer world of experiences, whereas introversion means reacting first and foremost to the inner world of ideas. House is clearly extroverted by this understanding, and in fact the show has a running theme about his need to bounce ideas off of people and write them out on whiteboards(or walls, windows, or whatever else).

Lastly, just take two well-known examples from real life and ask yourself which is more like House: Albert Einstein (INTP) or Jon Stewart (ENTP)?

House is clearly an ENTP.
