* This literalness (...[[AlternateCharacterInterpretation probably]]) does not actually apply in the world of \\\'\\\'{{Warhammer 40000}}\\\'\\\', but the Tech Priests and other members of the Imperial faction fervently believe it does.

Trope isn\\\'t about intelligent cars exercising active malice.

* Fargo from \\\'\\\'{{Eureka}}\\\'\\\' gave his car an AI with emotions and then tried to sell it when the vehicle got too old. While the car was none too happy with Fargo this trope applies more to the person he sold it to, who complained that it only drove in reverse (and he thought it was possessed).

* When this happens in \\\'\\\'{{Nobilis}}\\\'\\\', it means your car \\\'\\\'actually\\\'\\\' hates you. In fact, any and ALL breakdowns signify a grumpy car-spirit; the actual effect of maintenance is not to reverse mechanical entropy but to make the car feel loved!

I don\'t like comparing the show this way, but it needs to be said that this is especially grating when you look at the comics version of Superman, who handled it much better, going \'\'out of his way\'\' to give the kid the thumbs up shortly after [[IGotBetter he got better]] and even taking Superboy to meet and live with his parents. When that version of Superboy first started learning how to use his heat vision and failed (it was like trying to use a gun with no training), Superman showed up and gave him some pointers and then took him to the spot where he used to train on his own. In \'\'YJ\'\', he one second berates Superboy for not controlling his power properly and then tells him he doesn\'t want to to teach him, telling him that Batman and Canary, probably the main two people in the league who Superboy \'\'can\'t\'\' identify with will do so instead.
