Following up a list of all the NoYay\\\'s with \\\"yeah, all of the above\\\" is kinda redundant. :P

** A general rule of the series seems to be that the success of a game is directly proportional to the amount of horrifying potential pairings. For example in the second game, the most critically acclaimed and popular of the series, the protagonist has subtext and text with the [[TheScourgeOfGod supernatural executioner sent to torture him]] (mentioned above), a figment of his [[DysfunctionJunction severely broken]] imagination, a mentally shattered teenage victim of ParentalIncest (which is this trope in and of itself) and the resurrected corpse of [[spoiler:[[MummiesAtTheDinnerTable his wife Mary]], whom he murdered]].

That is really, really long just to be a recap of the stuff above it. Plus, Pyramid Head\\\'s already listed, and the rest of it\\\'s just, I dunno, too lackluster. Nothing seems inherently squicky about shipping Angela and James, or Maria and James (and they do have an ending as a couple, so that\\\'s not really subtext), or James and his wife (at first I thought the entry meant Maria, but apparently it\\\'s talking about the PetSematary\\\'esque resurrection ending - but since we never saw how that went, we can\\\'t really say if it\\\'d be squicky. {{Necromantic}} is a pretty common trope, and calling an instance of trying to bring back a dead loved one NoYay is a little too broad).

That is really, really long just to be a recap of the stuff above it. Plus, Pyramid Head\\\'s already listed, and Angela and Maria really aren\\\'t NoYay. Angela\\\'s a {{woobie}} that lots of players were hoping James \\\'\\\'would\\\'\\\' rescue, and Maria... well, saying she\\\'s a \\\"resurrected corpse\\\" isn\\\'t really accurate, she\\\'s more like a memory given physical form. But anyway, the game plays her scenes as straight FanService (well, when she\\\'s not being violently killed, that is, but that would be FanDisservice rather than NoYay), and one of the endings does have them as a couple (granted, it\\\'s not a happy ending, but that moves the pairing from subtext to some form of canon).
