This particular trope annoys me in writing because I know of no instances of it ever happening in real life -- not myself, not any of my friends or family, nor any biography of real persons that I\'ve ever read. It takes real concentration to sustain my suspension of disbelief for any story employing this trope. QUESTION: Does anyone have any real-life examples of this trope to cite that would lend plausibility to it? I mean, I get that it seems like it ought to happen all the time, but I don\'t think it does.
