The premise of tall oaks is a huge plot point that was implied multiple times that the government was behind the funding of umbrella\'s bio weapons which Umbrella chronicles and 5 both hint at.

6 is huge and actually culminates the story by having the bio terror threat escalate to the point that it becomes a full on war that is going to eradicate the planet.

Leon and Ada while not getting together do finally address their bond with Helena even telling Leon to go after her he doesn\'t but the end makes it clear they will eventually find each other, their game will end one day.

Chris\'s arc resolves his story way more by having his constant losses cause him to break and have someone who is like who he used to be help him be, someone who believes in him who sacrifices themselves for him but this time Chris uses that sacrifice to inspire himself not sink into cynicism. It even bookends his story by having him save Wesker\'s son to save humanity.

This isn\'t even going into Sherrys return and her relationship with Jake symbolically bringing Albert and William full circle.

5 is considered more of a grand finale just because the bad guy is finally beaten but there is no regard for the actual narrative or character arcs of the franchise. Just because you beat the bad guy doesn\'t mean the story is over you need to acknowledge the characters struggles and the ideas the franchises explores both attributes tv tropes seems to have little regard for.

This isn\'t even going into Sherry\'s return and her relationship with Jake symbolically bringing Albert and William full circle.
