Brought this entry here because the \"Instead\" and \"Result\" pieces are wrong. The issue is (as implied in the introductory paragraph) that the only person who knows where Kouga is sealed is Yamamoto. Yamamoto has not been imprisoned by Muramasa (although Muramasa pretends that he has been), he\'s deliberately sealed himself off to prevent Muramasa gaining control over his zanpakuto and obtaining the knowledge he seeks.

Muramasa and Byakuya therefore have to work together to try and find the location of Kouga, and no-one knows where Muramasa is hiding until Yoruichi tracks down Yamamoto\'s location.

While a WhatAnIdiot argument can be made about Byakuya\'s refusal to confide in his colleagues who Muramasa is and what his end-game is, doing so would never have enabled the Shinigami to find Muramasa in any manner different to the decisions they ended up making, and it would never have allowed them to lie in wait for Muramasa to come after Kouga, since only Yamamoto knew where Kouga was.

The \"Instead\" and \"result\" options therefore need rewriting.

* In the same filler arc Byakuya \'\'knows\'\' what Muramasa\'s goal is almost from the start. He is one of the only two Shinigami in Soul Society to know what it is[[note]]the other, Yamamoto, is currently imprisoned by Muramasa and incapable of telling anyone[[/note]]. He also knows that Muramasa might be able to get the information he needs to find Koga from Yamamoto very soon.

\'\'\'You\'d Expect:\'\'\' At the very least that Byakuya would take the chance to warn the other Shinigami what Muramasa\'s real goal is and that Byakuya is only \'\'pretending\'\' to be a traitor.

\'\'\'Instead:\'\'\' Byakuya doesn\'t tell anyone (not even the Shinigami in charge of intelligence) what\'s going on and so not only prevents Soul Society from putting guards in place but also runs the risk of getting himself killed by his allies, meaning that \'\'no one\'\' opposed to Muramasa would have a chance to stop him.

\'\'\'The Result:\'\'\' Muramasa finds Koga unopposed when it would have been simple for Byakuya or a Shinigami like Yoruichi or Suifen to just lie in waiting and kill Muramasa (who was very weak at the time) and the entire town of Karakura is nearly wiped out. All because of Byakuya\'s pride and inability to remember he\'s part of a larger military organization and not supposed to be a loner.
