Around 2001 I caught part of a fansubbed episode or movie that my roommate was watching. It was probably no older than 1998 and had a high school (or possibly junior high) setting. The plot dealt with a group of girls who were called "the Butterflies" because the founder of their club/group/whatever wore a multicolored jacket, and when she rode her bike it would ripple in the wind, making her look like a butterfly.

I remember watching this is the early 2000's but I cannot remember the name or if it was indeed from that time period. It was about two female police officers.
I distinctly remember an episode where a male police officer plays beach volleyball and starts getting incredibly hot and another where they had a new machine at the station where it would issue you food vouchers based on what it calculated should be your food intake and one of the main characters was less than pleased with this.

I remember in 7th grade our art teacher showed us a VHS compilation of old Japanese animated films. Osamu Tezuka's "Jumping" was on there, among other things. One of them was a short animation about the Hiroshima bombing. At first I thought it might have been the atomic bomb scene from Barefoot Gen, but that wasn't it, although it was very similar. I tried searching on amazon.com for said VHS but to no avail.

Well, I think it was an anime, but I'm not totally sure. This is gonna be kind of vague, but. . . I remember a scene where someone talks about being able to recognize women by the curve of their hips. That's all I remember. I just want to know what that came from.

okay I know I'm risking sounding stupid but I have to ask it's killing me! I remember watching an anime movie a LONG time ago with a woman as the main character whose kiss was poisonous. I can't remember why, anyway a man falls in love with her and for some reason her kiss doesn't kill him. I feel like the animation reminds me of vampire hunter d but I've only been able to find one of those movies and it wasn't it. Is there any way you can help me figure it out?

When I was about 13, I got really into anime and there was a website where I would download various video clips from various shows. Most of the time they were openings, endings, or songs that would have been in other episodes. In order to look for a certain title, you would have to click on the letter that the show would start with. (So, for an example, if you were looking for Dragon Ball, you would click on the D section.)
I never watched the show so I have no idea what it's about, except that I found it in the C section. I distinctly remember the description saying it was from one of the first episode, or one of the first episodes. But it was about a rock star? She was blonde and her name was something like Reika. In the beginning of the clip she was talking with someone behind stage telling them she was nervous, and they essentially said that she would do fine. When she gets on stage she knocks 'em dead, of course. The stage effects were kind of done in a more CGI style- I seem to remember a pink background with yellow smoke. I wish I could remember the song because I know it was catchy, and that's all I can tell you.
Also, if anyone remembers the site too, I may try to go back to it for the lulz. The layout was green and white, and since this was about 2002 all the files were in Real Player. They took forever to download, (often about 3-4 hours) and half the time they wouldn't even work.

There was this anime show aired in Cartoon Network about a decade ago, There's a Magic Girl named Cha Cha with two other companions Lia and (some other Mage with a blue cloak) Cha Cha looks a lot like Red Riding hood but then she can transform into another form, with long blonde hair and looks similar to Sailor Venus from Sailor Moon but not really, her parents were turned into stone by a bunch of bad guys...

I'm looking for an anime that was released in about mid-1990's to early 2000's. The protagonists were high school students that band together and fight their enemies using some kind of magical power. I remember one of the male cast, the main character, I presume, wielded a wooden sword, and another one made protective shield-things whenever she plays the piano.

This was a gundam show that was on either Adult Swim or Toonami that had this one episode where they where I believe trying to escape this dessert bunker and i vaguely remember someone betraying them and that they where some sort of resistance force but this was a very long time ago so my memory is very sketchy about it but I remember seeing this one episode and loving it but never seeing it ever again.

I'm looking for a certain show within the Gundam franchise, and wading through the trope pages, calendars, and wikis is only getting me more and more confused.
This one aired on Cartoon Network, late nineties to early 2000s. I remember that of the main cast they had one character, the token kid, who spent half the season writing home to his girlfriend before she broke up with him because it was a long-distance relationship. Another was an older guy, and an early plotline revolved around how on every third mission he had with his team, everybody but him died. There was one guy on the team who didn't want to be fighting (and for some reason could not file Conscientious Technical Pacifist), spent a fair amount of time Wangsting about that, and then eventually got over it. This one also featured some Guerrilla fighters, and I swear this show was the first place I heard that term. The character I remember from them most was this redhead teenage chick who got a few scenes of Digital Bikini (actually green instead of black, and made hilarious by the fact that she immediately began beating the main character for peeping at her while she was bathing—oh, Cartoon Network...). One of my main problems is that I can't differentiate exactly which of the heroes was in that series.
So far I can say that it is not Mobile Fighter G Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, SD Gundam Force, or any show within the Robotech or Macross franchises.

I'm pretty sure it was an anime that aired on Fox Kids (Australia) back in the early 2000s. Judging from what I can remember, and the pictures of the characters I used to draw, it was some sort of monster-catching anime. There were two or three kids, I remember one of the kids having green hair. They either had to catch the monsters that were turning evil, or they had to calm them down. Each monster they befriended had a special ability of some sort. I remember there was a winged blob that according to my drawings was called "Getalong" (though that could have just been my nickname for it) that would shoot hearts to calm people down. There was also a pterodactyl like creature that I can remember being called Terry.
Does anyone recognise this show? It's been bugging me for years!

Hi! Back in the late 1990's / early 2000's, I used to watch Cardcaptor Sakura and another anime that I can't find. It was about a little girl (black hair, pigtails, pinkish clothes?) who went to school and had a friend (guy, brown hair, greenish clothes?) she used to hang out with. She liked him a lot, but she was too shy/afraid to tell him (besides, I think he was older than her). I vaguely remember swings, jumping ropes and sunsets. During the ending song/credits, she was by the window, thinking, some soap bubbles around her reflected her memories? and the last thing we saw was the class picture, where the two friends were looking at each other, although they were apart.

You remember how back in the early 2000s networks were churning out Hilarious in Hindsight bad dubs of kids anime just as fast as they could so that they could cash in on some of the success that Pokemon had? And a lot of these were hilarious crap, like Flint The Time Detective. There was one, and it's been bugging me like crazy that I can't remember it, and that I can't totally differentiate which parts I remember from this show or Flint The Time Detective (I blame the likelihood that they were in the same time block).
Here are the details of what I remember: The two protagonists were children, and there was a Responsible Adult father who was some kind of scientist. They went on adventures to some alternate world, where it assumed a pretty non-challenging Monster of the Week format, if I'm remembering correctly. Remembering character designs and interactions is a bit sketchy, unfortunately. I get the feeling the girl had pink hair and the boy had some two-tone haircut, and the the scientist father acted a lot like Dr. Toros from Zoids. The villains as a whole were a threat, but the daily ones were a female set of Those Two Guys.
The one episode that's sticking in my mind revolved around Frog Dissection Day in the normal world (which freaked out the female protagonist to no end), and the villains in the other world doing some freaky bug experiments (with at least one of the underlings complaining about the ridiculous bug-like hairstyle the master had her wearing). Also appearing was some blond chick filling the role of Distressed Damsel (possibly with dryad-like empathic powers), who got an Imagine Spot of the male protagonist, I Am Not Making This Up, in a cloud of Bishie Sparkle and a kilt (the ludicrousness of which was lampshaded in the Imagine Spot—gotta love faithful translating). I believe the female protagonist got a little Tsundere about that. The protagonists eventually beat the genetically altered gigantic bug creatures with some combination of light and sound tricks, and the two minions were tied up and dangling from their ship. Back on planet Earth, the female protagonist got over her froggy issues and was the only one not bothered when the frogs all got out.
If I had to sum it up, I'd say it was probably what would happen if you mashed up Flint The Time Detective with Shinzo, favoring the ridiculous side of things. I've looked through some lists of programming blocks from that time period on Wikipedia (with a very wide window for time), and have so far turned up nothing. Any help for this rambling and possibly over-specific query would be appreciated.

Has anyone else read the manga "Dance Till Tomorrow"? I always figured I'd find it here but I guess not. Anyway I'm trying to build a page from the ground up and I've found out its a lot harder than it looks reading through the site. I know there's a place for shows that are coming out, and the YKKTW for tropes, but I'm trying to find a place where I can put out The Call to anyone who's read this to help with the tropes. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DanceTillTomorrow

Anime that was playing on the ImaginAsian (ia) channel one day and now I for the life of me can't find it again.
The characters fight with magic-fighting. I think the characters got their powers from tattoos or from a seal that glowed on their bodies...I only saw one scene, where there was a girl (late teen-early twenties), extremely exhausted and weakened, fighting against this rather obviously-evil woman...exhausted and worn out, the girl drags herself over to stand in front of the woman and barely touches her fist to the woman's stomach. The woman says something like "Hah! You call that a punch?" and then the girl releases her power. (Note that this is the English dub.)
The opening looked interesting so I'm just curious what it is.

This new anime I watched at a convention but can't remember the name... It was about a girl who goes to a boarding school and she and her brother are vampires, but it wasn't vampire knight. There was a scene where her brother was playing some kind of board game with another guy, where they pulled cards and had to do whatever the card said no matter what. The nonvampire guy's card said "the player must accept what happens next." Then the vampire chick's brother pulled one that said he had to stab his hand with a sword, so he stabbed his hand and showed the other guy that he could heal.

I'm pretty sure this is an anime of some sort, it was a short film I think, and all I remember was that the hero had to go into a tower where an evil shadow lived and that if the shadow attacked the hero's shadow it hurt the hero. That's all I remember, seeing Princess and the Frog recently reminded me of it.
I think it also came on a Dvd collection with an animated version of The Dancing Shoes and some story about a girl who goes into a goblin's castle to rescue a prince who was turned into an owl but while there she cannot say a word or she'll drop dead (wouldn't mind knowing what that one was either).
It was a show about seven (?) Absurdly Human Robots. I don't remember much, but I do know one of them had red (?) hair and a really long nose, and on one episode he was making a meal and screamed something along the lines of "ARGH! Who makes a cyborg that can get hungry?!" I also remember another episode where they were going through a castle, and the castle kept changing shape, and there was some game of chess involved. I can't remember anything else.
