Fuck, I love this show. You'd be hard-pressed to find better writing for an animated show anywhere. Especially the episode "Sacrifice", for the sheer number of different subtexts and character relationships they juggle in a single scene's worth of dialogue.

"Wax on, wax off..." "But Mr. Miyagi, I don't see how this is helping me do Karate..." "Pubic hair is weakness, Daniel-san!"

Honestly, I did not care for it at all. But that's just my opinion.

I loved this too. It's as if they tapped directly into the dark underbelly of Fundamentalist Protestantism.

You'd be hard-pressed to find better writing for an animated show anywhere.

I found it overly obvious and too strawmanny to be effective. Every episode is basically OREL TAKES CHRISTIAN TEACHINGS WAY TOO LITERALLY, ALSO THE PRIEST IS NON-STEREOTYPICAL.

Ultimately, it's a much less effective parody of Christian fundamentalism than Christian fundamentalism is.

^ That was the premise for the first season. After that, the slide of Moralton and it's inhabitants into the moral abyss became the focus. From what I can tell, at least. No DVDs of those seasons, since Adult Swim wants nothing to do with them.

Orel represents Christianity as a whole, for the fact that he is very pious, but being naive, he ends up doing very... "unforgivable" things in order to prove his love for God.

Above all, always remember to stay positive.

Found That Other Wiki quote:

The program takes place in the fictional city of Moralton, in the fictional U.S. state "Statesota," which is made up of most of Kansas, western Missouri, north Oklahoma, and a portion of Arkansas. According to the globe shown in the opening credits, Moralton is in the exact center of the United States, with the town's church at the exact center of the town (and therefore the country).

Upon hearing that it goes much darker than any Adult Swim show ever had beforehand thematically, I knew I had to get into the show. I hope to see more of it in the near future.

It can't be helped.

I hear this show looks like Robot Chicken. I mistook the former for the latter, the first time I saw it, and wondered why it didn't go on to the next skit!

What happened? Why am I not allowed to post anymore!?

Hi, I know most people may not speak Spanish here but still, I want to share my review with you. Even if you don't know Spanish if you can check and like is of great help for the channel. Thank you.

The review in general examines the history, plot, changes in tone, apparent reason for cancellation, the controversial "Nature" and "Alone" episodes and the like.
