The Dresden Files

Good chance of that happening in the next full book. I can easily see a more thorough Journey to the Center of the Mind of some form occurring.

Anyway, chapter 2 is up. Replies would be appreciated.

Chapter 3

So, it would seem Side Jobs has been postponed, which is... aggrevating. Some of the short stories are available on Butcher's site, but... well, I want to know what happens 45 minutes after Changes damnit D:

Wait, I stand corrected, turns out just some of the short stories couldn't be put in the collection. Unfortunately, this includes the one from Marcone's perspective, so I guess I have to find that some other way. Sorry 'bout the confusion.

Nah, no need for that if you are willing to wait a while. I read somewhere that he wants all the short stories compiled into compilation books. So he will just have to write enough to make another book.

chapter 4

On a completely different note, I re-read Turn Coat and at the end, it is revealed that Ebenezer has a row of journals passed down from master to disciple/new master going back to Merlin. Then in Changes we find out about the family relationship. Dresden is a direct decedent of Merlin. It would explain a lot.

Literary Agent Hypothesis anyone?

Actually, I think that is canon. Or at least Word of God for the people who made the RPG.

I was just looking at the tropes on This Index Will Be Important Later and I can't help wondering WHY THEY ARE NOT ALL ON THE DRESDEN FILES PAGE? (well, except for the one about volcanoes) I am working on the liveblog, so could someone else work on that?

In before comments are made about the book with short stories: Let's try to keep all comments about the new short story spoilered for about a month, just to be on the safe side.

chapter 5

Dang, it has only been 6 days sense I cam out with a chapter. Thought it was longer. Anyways, enjoy.

I just finished Changes a few days ago. The first words out of my mouth to someone who had read it before: "Holy fucking shit!" I just couldn't put it down for more than fifteen minutes after the scene with the Molotov.

I feel the need to re-post this from the first page. (that link was to the "new page" anyway, not the permanent "date page")

So, I got my copy of Side Jobs here the other day, and I, being the incredibly patient man that I am, skipped entirely to Aftermath and... well. Fish men, yay! Billy & Georgia, yay! Few news we did not know before RE: Dresden... D: Well, I guess it helped cement the budding Dresden/Murphy shipper in me, and that's something.

Jim Butcher's website confirms that harry has died, and gives a general plot for ghost story.

It seems that Harry will be without magic and as a ghost for our next tale...

This just adds more fuel to my that that Necromancer girl from Dead Beat will bring Harry back!

Likewise when mine arrived a few hours ago. Though I do have the excuse that I've read most of them already. Seeing Harry from Murphy's point of view was... interesting.

Liveblog chapter 7

I'm looking for a new series. The Dresden Files series scale of one to ten?

Eleven

Okay I kid a little, but only a little. Storm Front is a good solid start but nothing spectacular and Fool Moon is definitely the weakest of the series IMNSHO. Grave Peril is better but still not great and it's main advantage is starting the larger, overarching plot. Summer Knight is where the series really starts to hit its stride as far as I'm concerned and from that point on it only goes from strength to strength.
