Well, given the scenes where we see him, he's fairly charismatic when he appears in the first book, as well as charismatic in a Large Ham sort of way in the fourth. The few scenes in the seventh where he's not in a rage in the seventh book show him to be very commanding without needing to actually threaten, and it's only in the fifth book where his one appearance isn't at least partially Affably Evil.
Show maybe it would be Show And Tell. But this should really be in the actual Harry Potter thread.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I'm going to chime in on The Princess And The Frog: Tiana is, to my mind, definitely a Hufflepuff. Her hard work, perseverance, and loyalty to her ideals all shout "Hufflepuff" to me, though her second House would definitely be Slytherin. There's the fact that she uses food all the time to make people feel better. Taking care of people is seen as a Hufflepuff trait in fanon. Probably Mama Odie is a Ravenclaw, who knows there's more kinds of work and diligence than what you do with your hands.
Naveen isn't a Slytherin, because he's not upset about losing his throne, just about losing the money he had. I might peg him as Ravenclaw, considering how he has traits of Brilliant, but Lazy. And Ray is a Gryffindor, probably of young Neville Longbottom's stripe - that chivalric, romantic urge seems very Gryffindor to me. And Louis goes into Gryffindor or Slytherin, because of his irrepressible show-off urge (something with which I well identify).
(Also, Lilo is a Ravenclaw a la Luna Lovegood. Her sister, Nani, is a Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. And Stitch would just try to eat the Sorting Hat if you placed it on his head. So he's undefinable.)
I'd actually peg Ray as a Hufflepuff - thanks to his overwhelming loyalty and being the biggest hearted character in the whole dang movie - and Louis as a Gryffindor - in a Neville-esque sort of way.
Hilariously, I started this thread as a sort of project, so I could analyze whole sets of characters frequently, but I've only done one set so far. Brilliant, but Lazy, that's me. Better get on that: which do y'all think I should do first - another Disney movie or Star Wars?

Harry Dresden: Gryfindor
Karen Murphy: Gryfindor
John Marcone: an unusually honorable Slytherin
Waldo Butters: Hufflepuff
Michael and Charity Carpenter: Gryfindor
Donald Morgan: Gryfindor
Nicodemus Archleone: evil Ravenclaw
Sanya: Gryfindor
Shiro: Gryfindor or Hufflepuff

Inara could classify as Slytherin, though. She does a lot of manipulation in her work.
ophelia, you're breaking my heartSince I'm reading Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles and was thinking of a ludicrous crossover between that and Harry Potter, I might as well give this a try.
Louis - Hufflepuff. Moderately intelligent, moderately brave but most of all, kind-hearted and loving.
Lestat - Slytherin. He is defined by self-absorption, charisma and ambition.
Marius - Ravenclaw. A true intellectual.
Not sure about any Gryffindor vampires... Maybe Pandora from the little I've seen of her.

I'll chime in with Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple ^_^
Kenichi: Hufflepuff (textbooks definition of one, and the main character?!)
Miu: Gryffindor
Niijima: Slytherin or Ravenclaw
Takeda: Gryffindor
Thor: Gryffindor
Freya: Ravenclaw
Ukita: Hufflepuff
Kisara: Ehh....Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, hard to tell with this one.
Aaaand the Ryouzanpaku masters....
Hayato: Gryffindor, most likely
Akisame: Ravenclaw
Sakaki: Gryffindor
Apachai: Hufflepuff
Shigure: Ravenclaw
Kensei: ....another difficult one to place. You could probably make an argument for him fitting into any of the houses, really.

A Series Of Unfortunate Events
- Violet - Ravenclaw
- Klaus - Ravenclaw
- Sunny - Gryffindor
- Count Olaf - Slytherin
- Esme - Slytherin
- Duncan - Hufflepuff
- Isadora - Ravenclaw
- Quigley - Ravenclaw
I feel bad about putting the evil characters in Slytherin because I don't think of the house or its characteristics as inherently evil, but I guess the characteristics do go hand in hand with evil itself.
Banned entirely for telling FE that he was being rude and not contributing to the discussion. I shall watch down from the goon heavens.Discworld:
Death- Ravenclaw.
Susan- Ravenclaw.
Vimes- Gryfindor.
Carrot- He could be Gryfindor, Slytherine, or Hufflepuff.
Vetinari- a Slytherine, for sure.

^ He was in Viper House at the Assassin's Guild.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Let's do some vidya games of which I happen to be very fond!
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
- Goombella: Ravenclaw, even though she, like, totally talks like a valley girl!
- Koops: Hufflepuff, deffs.
- Flurrie: Hard to say. Could be Hufflepuff due to her caring nature.
- Yoshi: Gryffindor, and he'd hip-drop you if you suggested otherwise.
- Vivian: Another Hufflepuff over here.
- Ms. Mowz: Ambitious and charismatic? One ticket to Slytherin, please!
- Bobbery: Another Gryffindor in all likelihood.
- Jade: Could do well in either Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. She's got the bravery for Gryff and the caringness for Huffle.
- Pey'j: A tinker-tastic Ravenclaw.
- Double H: So Gryffindor it hurts.
- Prof. Layton: Ravenclaw—do you even have to ask?
- Luke: Could go for Ravenclaw, but I think his boldness and spirit give him a Gryffindor edge.
- Flora: Probably another duel-Ravenclaw, with Hufflepuff as her main course.
As for villainous Gryffindors... how about Wander? Brave, despite being totally unskilled. Wants to save the life of his lady-love and is willing to do anything to get it. Up to and including slaughtering the 16 Colossi in relatively cold blood.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaAnyone got a Sorting Hat?
Please don't feed the trolls!Hooray for a fellow Series of Unfortunate Events fan.
But moving on...
Griffith of Berserk is a Slytherin if I ever saw one.
Vash The Stampede is Gryffindor. He's too brave and awesome for Hufflepuff.
Disagree with the Discworld post above. Vimes is solidly Hufflepuff. Sure, he's got nerve, but it's now what defines him. He's defined by his honesty, dedication to duty and belief in justice - all Hufflepuff traits. And his hostility to aristocracy is fairly Hufflepuff too.
Carrot could easily be either a Hufflepuff or a Gryffindor.
Vetinari, obviously, is a Slytherin.
Re: The Dresden Files — Don't forget Lara as Slytherin.
And on a different note: Durarara.
Celty — Hufflepuff all the way.
Shinra — Probably the most Ravenclaw character in the series.
Mikado — Everyone was shocked when the sorting hat put him in Gryffindor and not Hufflepuff. Then the whole Dollars thing happened.
Masaomi — Was offered either Gryffindor or Slytherin by the Hat; initially chose Slytherin before transferring to Gryffindor.
Anri — Hufflepuff.
Izaya — Might as well be the second coming of Salazaar Slytherin.
Shizuo — Gryffindor (to oppose Izaya's Slytherin).
Kadota — Hufflepuff.
Walker and Erika — Gryffindor, but with a hint of Slytherin.
Namie — Slytherin.
The Philosopher-King ParadoxTiger And Bunny time!
Kotetsu/Wild Tiger: Gryffindor. This is really the only house for someone who's mantra appears to be, "FUCK PLANS! LET'S SAVE PEOPLE BY BREAKING STUFF!"
Barnaby Brooks Jr.: Ravenclaw. He's a thinly veiled Batman expy. Batman's a Ravenclaw. End of story.
Keith Goodman/Sky High: Hufflepuff. While The Ace should probably be a Gryffindor, the fact that he's pretty much a human Care Bear inclines me to put him in Hufflepuff
Karina Lyle/Blue Rose: Ravenclaw. Somewhat snide but well-meaning characters always strike me as Ravenclaws.
Antonio Lopez/Rock Bison: There hasn't been enough of him for me to really sort him, but I'm inclined to believe he's a Hufflepuff.
Ivan Karelin: Ravenclaw, because he's a neeeeeeerrrrrrd. Also because he's one of those timid introspective types.
Nathan Seymore/Fire Emblem: Gryffindor. I thought about putting him as a Hufflepuff, but he just seems too flashy for that house. Plus both his and Gryffindor's element is fire. It just makes more sense.
Pao-Lin Huang/Dragon Kid: Gryffindor. Slightly impetuous teenage Bokukkos always strike me as Gryffindors.
Agnes Joubert: Slytherin, all the way.
Doc Saito: Ravenclaw, of the loopy Luna Lovegood mold.
Loyd Alexander: Slytherin. Dickish corporate representatives are always Slytherin.
Mr. Legend: Gryffindor.
Lunatic: Slytherin, duh.

You may be right about Vimes.
I still think Carrot could maybe be a Slytherine based on his strange sort of cunning and deviousness, but maybe not. The critical element he's missing is personal ambition- this is a man who turned down being king after all.
In other words, he's got the cunning of a Slytherine but not the goals.
What about Dibbler? He doesn't seem ambitious enough for Slytherin.

Da Rules excuse all the inaccuracy in the world. Listen to them, not me.Yeah, but intellectual pursuits, hard work and bravery aren't important to him. Cunning? It's part of his job.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Dibbler's ambitious- his ambition is to make money. How good he is at it is questionable, but its there.
The Man Your Man Could Smell Like: He's totally Hufflepuff. He's already so cool that he isn't ambitious, he doesn't need to be brave or wise selling Old Spice, and he plays a support role to all those men who want to smell like him.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.My one gripe with this game is that, like the books, Gryffindor and Slytherin are largely codewords for "hero" and "villain" respectively.
Hard mode: Post five heroes who would fit into Slytherin perfectly. They must be overtly heroic, likable and have the capacity to make audiences go "I wanna be that person".
The reverse is much easier. Knight Templar villains tend to be both sincere and will take a gamble for their beliefs, which is pretty Gryffindor of them.
Swordsman Troper — Reclaiming The Blade — WatchMiles Vorkosigan, Captain Jester, my darling Sansei (seriously, he's saved the world or part of it like ten times since the seventies), Umezawa Toshi, and Gilgamesh Wulfenbach. And if Toshi isn't heroic enough for you, then Rumaty from Hanasakeru Seishounen.
What do I win?
