If you can give me a link for the english patch, then I'll love to try it. It's been a long time since I started watching/reading/playing/whatevering anything without any knowledge beyond the title.
Alrighty then! I'll first finish this {{Shuffle!!}} business that still needs attending (though that might not take very long, if it doesn't get any better very soon), and then I'll get right on this!
Yeah, it's going to take a little longer. I really suck at this 'piracy' stuff (as I prefer not to use it), so I have no clue how to get it running.
Sorry, will get to it once I can contact my friend mr I-have-hunderds-of-illegal-games-on-my-external-harddrive-that—I-don't-even-bother-playing.
So close. So very close. I only need to get the English patch working, and I'm done. Probably going to take me another week, though.
Hope you can get it working soon. One of my top three favorite VNs and few people seem aware that it exists.
Okay, Sharin No Kuni. I'm at the final chapter.
I was vaguely aware that something was going on that wasn't directly shown. I noted the door in Sachi's room, but skipped over the other clues. Still, that alerted me tt something being off.
There's some clear similarities to G-Senjou no Maou. A menacing father figure. The actual father is not present but is a significant figure in the story. The main character is a smart rich individual. From there, I linked together a few more things. His sister was definitely going to be a big part of the story just like Kyouhei was. How she would affect the plot, I had no clue.
That had to be one of the most crazy plot twists ever. Truly genius. In all honesty. Now I'm at the point where Ken's sneaking in to save Natsumi, and I hear guards talking of two people with maximum penalty. This is something I didn't even consider. I'll be continuing now to figure out what's going on.
Yeah, it was one weird twist. I was amused that the writers realized as much and made sure to do flashbacks to all the hints so they didn't get accused of utter bullshit.
The ending to Natsumi's route was so great. Honestly. The brand new sprite they used at that scene was amazing. Her posture is so different from what we'd seen of her character before that, it's really just awe-inspiring
The thing is, I don't really like Natsumi and I'm kind of annoyed at how her ending eclipses everyone else's. It makes it too obvious she's the main heroine.
That's how it generally ends up. I didn't mind it at all.
A few things I kinda suspected but wasn't sure about. Houzuki's leg not being injured. There was no reason for him to so clearly expose a weakness like that to someone who clearly disliked him. Ken's smoking, I wasn't so sure about but I had doubts.
The operation save Natsumi was most certainly going to end in failure. That much was obvious. Plus, the climb out of the cave (I'm at the part where the vocal music starts now) was going too well. Something was going to snap (pun intended)
Ah, well, the way they made it so obvious just bugged me because while I rather liked the other three I disliked Natsumi a little and led to me not sympathizing with her very much.
Tell me, which heroine did you go for first anyway? The story is the same whichever way, but I'm curious.
Sachi. I didn't like Touka and Natsumi seemed rather boring at the time. Also, can you choose Ririko?
Also, it kind of amuses me that the girl you see at the beginning is killed and almost never mentioned again. Is she relevant in some sort of extra route?
Yeah, you can choose her. What you have to do is not trigger Touka, Sachi or Natsumi and then when the option comes up at the very end you choose to work with her rather than move into the village or whatever. The village option thingy results in a harem ending, though there's no sex scene for it.
Eri or whatever? I think there's a sidestory for her on the fandisc. I haven't read it, I don't think it was even translated yet.
It has been translated. I've already downloaded in anticipation of finishing all the routes.
No, the one sidestory in it was translated. Other parts weren't.
Comparing this to G-Senjou again but I kind of found the soundtrack lacking. I mean yeah, G-Senjou No Maou's music was supposed to be epic but no song really stood out in Sharin No Kuni.
When comparing the two I generally think that Sharin no Kuni had the better protagonist, but G Senjou No Maou had the better story and main heroine.
I don't really remember anything about the Sharin no Kuni soundtrack.

It's hard to top Usami.
I like both of the main characters and the stories. They're both great.
True and yeah. It irks me a little that very few people seem to want to try this.
One thing that I'd like is if Sharin had seperate plots. Like how a heroine's plot would diverge from the main one in G-Senjou. It kinda takes the fun out of reading all the routes since it's basically the same thing.
Yeah. Not much in the way of replay value. To do that would require quite a bit of rewriting, though.
Now that we actually have a proper forum for it, I can shamelessly advertise this VN. Any discussion over it should go here.
