Traductores en español

While I agree that spanish is as important as english and chinese (being the 3 most spoken languages in the world), this wiki is in english mainly. Any other language comes in second place.

I learned that in a Query in Ask The Tropers, where instead of giving me the answer I wanted, tropers started talking about how spanish is not as "important" as english when it comes to voice actors.

I mean, I can translate the Page, but only after I finish some personal proyects (creating like 5 works in spanish and rework half of the spanish tropes).

While there is no official "neutral spanish", you only need to remove any regionalisms and you'll have a form that every hispanic person can understand. This is mostly done in spanish dubs in México.

Bad idea? No. Good idea? Maybe...

Judging the last page that you created, while you have most of the basics covered, a lot of the words you used were too literal and you hardly use pronouns that make spanish and english pretty different languages (I also struggled with this and mainly the word do/does back in elementary school).

Google translate does a good job, but isn't perfect. It needs some tweaks that only a native (or a professional) could do.

Yeah, that's valid. My only background is middle/high school study, but not university. It's been a hot second since I've studied Spanish, and my only regular use of it is conversational. As much as I'm itching to help for love of translation, the reality check is needed.

I've already done an (unfinished) Spanish translation of Banned in China page myself with Google Translation. The rest of it were probably up to you guys now.

Off course! Any help is wellcome, I can understand why you feel bad about the last time but it wasn't so bad, half of the translation wasn't a total mess o something like that. And if you still want to traslate just keep going, with practice it gets easy; my first edits, trasnlations and pages were really a total mess XD, but now are just normal. Its that, just keep trying and ask if you need anything. Puedes intentar crear un sandbox para comprobar que la traducción va bien, o ir haciendo cosas que no generen problemas en caso de resultar mal como ańadir ejemplos para practicar.

Ehmm... Okey?... I really don't understand what you want. As the others have already told you, here we simply translate little by little when someone wants/can. Google Translate is a good tool but it's a horrible idea to just pass the text over there and leave it alone, there are going to be hundreds of little mistakes and bad grammar, in many cases it's better not to do it at all. And if you want that translated page you are free to do it, but don't expect someone else to do it. Again, this is completely free and just a hobby for many. It is quite possible that the page will stay like it is for a long time, just like the rest of the pages in Spanish. I say again that I do not understand you very well.

El Auto Supuesto

• Dude, Where's My Car?: El coche en cuestión aparece en el minuto final del filme. Su coche de marca Renault es feísmo y pequeñito comparado a todos los otros coches.
• Hay un coche en Smoke Signals que está atascado al revés permanentemente. Según los creadores, es Truth in Television por algunas reservas.
• I Love Lucy: Le encargan a Fred que compre un descapotable azul de marca Cadillac. El hecho de que él sólo pagara $300 por el carro debería prevenirles que fue un cacharro.
• Oglaf: El barco de "Bilge." Well, lets see:

• Example one is almost fine. The only word thats wrong is feísmo", which should be feísimo.
• Example two is just like the last one. The last word is kind of weird. "Reservas" (reserves) doesnt go there. Im pretty sure the original word is "reasons" (razones).
• Example three goes the same way. "Prevenirles" means, well, to prevent. While this is literally correct, a more appropiate word could be "decirles" (tell them/to tell them).
• Example four is, kinda hard to understand. By the way is written, the example tells me that the man in charge build the ship and then announced to the town that the ship isnt exactly a good ship. You need to move anuncia que el barco before que lo construyó and change construyó ([he/she] builded it) to construyeron ([they] builded it). The last part has the word "prender" (to ignite it), but the correct word is "prenderse" (to ignite it itself). Funny thing, "patriarc" is a "female" word in spanish. "Patriarca" is the correct word, "patriarco" does not exist.

You know, for an english speaker, spanish sometimes switches the positions in the sentences. For me, its the same. Sounds like a joke, but this reminds me of Yoda, and thanks to him I learned to speak english. I'm not joking when I say that Yoda could help you to understand spanish a bit.

Añadé los tres ejemplos a El Auto Supuesto con los correcciones. Quiero añadir más, entonces... 2a ronda:

• Family Matters: El carro de Steve Urkel es microcoche Isetta.
  "Ay, ¡me alegro de que pagaba los cuatro dólares extra por el techo solar!"
• El objetivo entero de Bad Piggies es construir contrapciones vehiculares para transportar los cerditos [across the screen]. Frecuentemente las contraciones se derrumban aun cuando los cerditos sobreviven.
• Hay un persecución de coches en Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! con carros tan viejos que Mason Dixon sólo puede atrapar al hombre persuiguido después de salir de su carro y perseguirle a pie.

• Dos pequeńos errores, las frases serían: "es un microcoche Isetta", y "me alegró de que pagué los cuatro dólares".

• Busqué en la página en inglés y el utilizado "contraptions" se traduce en espańol como "artilugio" o "aparato", siendo un sinónimo para maquina o dispositivo, "contrapciones" no existe en espańol.

I looked on the page and the used "contraptions" translates as "artilugio" o "aparato", being a synonymous for machine or gadget, "contrapciones" does not exist in spanish.

• "Persecusión" es una palabra femenina, simplemente sería "Hay una persecución".

"Persecusión" is a female word, it just be "Hay una persecución".

Soy idiota, gracias. Idk why I didn't bother looking up "contraption" to see if it existed. Second-guessed myself, too, and removed that "un" that I'd had in there originally for the microcoche. No excuses for getting persecución's gender wrong.

Gracias por ayudarme con la gramática del quote también. Nunca aprendí como se usa el subjuntivo con el tiempo pasado. (Well, if I did, that'd've been eight years ago. Se me olvidó mucho.)

Creo que está perfecto. Aunque en lo personal me parece mejor "Arco Mítico", porque se distancia un poco más de poder ser entendido como algo referente a la mitología, aunque viendo el origen del nombre creo que tampoco importa mucho eso último.

Hola a todos, vengo de TRS para decir que Danbrowneado ha cambiado su nombre. Ahora se llama Falsely Advertised Accuracy. Como lo traduciria al espanol? "Aseveracion Falsa De Exactitud"? La pagina va a necesitar algunos cambios a su descripcion tambien, pero eso viene despues del nombre nuevo. Gracias!
