So Edgar Wright is hosting a special free screening of Scott Pilgrim on Friday at 7PM in Toronto, ON. With special guests Brian Lee O'Malley and Ellen Wong. The screening is about two blocks away from the University of Toronto at an 800 seat theater. It's first come first served and all of the guaranteed passes (about 150 is my approximation) have already been given away.

My problem is that I live in Buffalo, NY, which is roughly 100 miles away, or a two hour drive. My question, dear tropers, is this, how early should I plan on getting to the theater to have a hope of getting in? And are there any other things I should take into consideration for a venture like this?

So far the advice I have received tells me that I should arrive there several hours ahead of the screening to secure a place, so I'm thinking of heading out between 2 and 3PM to get myself a space in line, to get a pass, or answer any questions three, depending on how they're planning on doing this thing.

If it starts at 7 and you're 2 hours away, and it's happening only two blocks away from a major university, I'd shoot for arriving around noon rather than 5:00 pm.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.

Ha, I would camp there if I were you, ESPECIALLY if its near a college, people will be getting in line at dawn.

You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans.

So i got there at 4, got in line at about 4:15, after finding a place where I could change my money to pay for parking, and got in fine and dandy. Though apparently they ran out of tickets for the people who came after 4:30. There were definitely campers there, but it wasn't as bad as one would expect. Still, thank you guys for your advice.
