...oh god, Ive had nightmares about working in a store when this happens
I made a thread for Penny Arcade Presents stuff. An actual page will follow eventually.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyhttp://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2010/8/13/
Hahahaha. I absolutely love it when they do Take Thats at people who seemingly fail to appreciate the satirical aspects of their work. Gabe's "serious face" expression in the third panel is priceless.
"It's possible you read our cartoon, and became a rapist as a direct result. If you're raping someone right now, stop. Apologize. And leave. Go and rape no more."
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Something's wrong with (what I'm seeing on) their home page; I'm still getting wednesday's post.
The time when the comic goes up and the time when the newspost does are only vaguely related to each other. Usually it's the other way around, though.
Yeah, their updating scripts are weird. They seem only tangentially related to when the material actually goes up. I got that link from the RSS feed.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"The Rant is up, here. So it was the "Dickwolf" joke that got people to send PA hatemail. As noted in The Rant, this is odd considering the strip's usual subject matter.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Oh wow, this strip made me laugh out loud three times. Once when I saw the beforementioned "serious face" before actually reading it, once at "Some found this idea disturbing", and again at the final punchline.
I lol'd the first time at "We hate rapers and the rapes they do". The second time at the "serious face" and the third time at the punchline.
I'm honestly surprised that anyone was offended by that. It's not even close to the worst thing they've done in the comics.
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella. The Dickwolf joke actually offended people? Really?
I thought they were making fun of people who were easily offended.
We have a natural right to make use of our pens as of our tongue, at our peril, risk and hazard. ~VoltaireThis strip and The Rant for it remind me that PA loves to take on real-world topics. I even went so far as to read the Ars Technica article it references. Seriously? An FM radio chip in all mobile devices? Talk about enshrining the past!
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Whose body are they dumping?
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987That makes sense considering the ammount of cartooney violence they show on a regular basis. How many times have the killed each other?
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella. It's sort of a running gag to have them be doing completely random things while talking. Presumably to avert Talking Heads while at the same time being amusing.
Seriously though, what's up with the radio industry? That's just crazy.
xD Figures Gabe would have advanced Lego peices.
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.Apparently they're finding PAX related ads on Craigslist now. Room 418 is their response.
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.Remove Sandals (0/2). I'm pretty sure this particular joke has been done before, but I wonder where they plan to take it.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"BLAAAA disregard.

I have a message from another time...Esther would make for an awesome game or just adaptation in general. It's a rare creature - a very early fairy tale that's actually somewhat short and sweet - and with a strong female protagonist, to boot!
I didn't know it was a real MMO until I read the rant and looked it up. Soon as I get a new computer, I'm trying that out.
Either way the strip made me laugh. Certianly not their best, but it was still pretty funny.
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella. The Ultimatam. My cheevos!
We claim the land for the highlord, God bless the land and the hiiighlooord! What the farm is a "cheevo"?
edit:
Saying it out loud clued me in. It's a heavily shortened and slang-ified "achievement"

I have a message from another time...I went back and looked at the previous one, Moses getting a quest from a burning bush is hilarious.
Fight smart, not fair.
I still love Further Songs of Sorcelation. "I'm getting into my car, and I'm driving over to Barnes & Noble. If that is the name of a real book, I'm going to kill myself. Others may die also. I'm going to play this thing by ear."
