BADASS. ^^
Some writing.Yeah, [AOD]'s art is so far my personal favorite. Tons of attention to detail, with an almost tangible realism.
That helicopter is pure kickassery [AOD].
I'll throw this into the mix ...
((If you choose to wander about my DA, I'd recommend not going past the first page, scary things lurk back there))
"They called me mad, I called them mad, and damn them, they outvoted me." - Nathaniel Lee, playwright, upon being committed to BedlamHoly...
Those are just plain fantastic! I especially love the "Noose" ones (and this is coming from someone who's hemophobic). The character sketches actually remind me of my brother's drawings, too. Which is good.
Edit: [1]◊
I'm actually finishing a full body drawing for the first time in a looong while. Thought I'd scan it and post it before I wind up butchering it.
(I think I'm doing the hips wrong, though... Any advice?)

There's something off about where the points of the hips are in relation to her crotch. I think they're too high. They're definitely too pointy. See◊ how the widest line of the hips is only slightly above the bottom of the crotch? The femur sticks out the farthest higher up, but the muscle is bulkier below the head of the bone and moves the wide point down.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Thanks. Good thing I asked, since I was thinking they looked too low.
I really do need to take an anatomy class.
Well, the picture itself looks fine to me.
But maybe that's because I'm used to auto-accepting abstractive styles, such as the animesque style.
NMS, NWS, High Levels of Gorn◊. But I'm proud of it.
Feedback Of Heteronormative Gender Stereotypes in Anime^ You forgot to mention spoileriffic.
Panel 2 rocked.
Dump the networks!EI: Only spoileriffic for people who read my comic.
Feedback Of Heteronormative Gender Stereotypes in Anime@Miijhal - Thanks, I'm fairly fond of the Noose images as well. By character sketches do you mean those things on pg. 2 and 3? Oh, man those things are old.
I am still fond of this one, though.
I was researching ideas for the comic he's from when I first found TV Tropes.
"They called me mad, I called them mad, and damn them, they outvoted me." - Nathaniel Lee, playwright, upon being committed to BedlamI love your Spider Jerusalem avatar.
Feedback Of Heteronormative Gender Stereotypes in Anime@The Fedora Pirate: Page 2, primarily.
This one is one of my favorites, despite the fact that I put her too close to a really crappy drawing of a friend of mine and her original, sketchy body is still there. The moral of the story: pencil first, THEN pen.
This is another favorite. Doodled him in history earlier this year.
I've decided to start posting more often. Sorry.Have you read JTHM, Raz? Something about the top creature's tongue and teeth remind me of JTHM-style monsters for some reason.
Feedback Of Heteronormative Gender Stereotypes in AnimeYeah, I do.
Jhonen Vasquez influenced my artistic style subconciously, I think. Lots of things about my art remind me of his style— like how I draw my eyes and the shapes of some of my monsters' heads.
I've decided to start posting more often. Sorry.I myself have never read JTHM. My dad does, though.
Would you want to see something even though it's bad, sketchy and has lots of anatomy errors?

Aw it's hilarious actually, and the sketchiness is part of his style. Black humoured.
Feedback Of Heteronormative Gender Stereotypes in Anime...I was talking about my own art at the bottom, there. This◊ is why I was asking for a ref of a woman on her stomach. I'm already fixing it, but I thought I'd post it for humor value. I know what's wrong with it, so I'm just treating it like a sketch planning things out.

Ohhh oh. Well just post it and we can give you critique to help you improve.
Feedback Of Heteronormative Gender Stereotypes in AnimeMy problem is that it looks fine when I draw a normal person in the pose, but as soon as I make it cartoonish it looks horrible.
I drew this◊ as a joke for a friend. Jasper Morello plus Naughty Tentacles.

If you're looking for reference photos, this place is awesome. It takes some fiddling with keywords to get what you want, but it's a great resource nonetheless.
Edit: never mind, I got mixed up.
