I unfortunately didn't really have a best friend in high school (in fact, I had very few friends overall). In fact, by the end of the penultimate school year before university I had been bullied by so many assholes that I expressly asked the principal to take me to a different classroom from them in the final year.
Fortunately, during my years in the university, I did make lots of awesome friends and never met a single bully.

Y'know, I've been thinking; is it really the author's fault if people say their works are overrated/overhyped? I mean, what author doesn't want their works to be popular?

In high school I haven't really had to deal with that but in middle school I definitely had a few "friends" in one friend group that were less than nice to me about my Speech Impediment and one of them for some reason also didn't like me because they thought I was ginger? (I'm not even ginger, I'm blonde)

Same with me in high school. At least I stayed in touch with one of them after we graduated; the rest parted ways from us. He’s been my best friend for over 15 years.
