Yeah, I think she just leaves and goes to kill Rika then herself in each failed attempt. I think its really neat how she uses loops to identify a time when she can steal it though.
This tweet is also still super accurate
I wonder how long Sotsu is going to be. If it will be another 24 episodes, or just one more cour?
It's a bit of a letdown we have to wait for more, but also I suppose nice to have a break for a few months after Higurashi for 24 weeks.
Also, R07 probably needs some time to focus on Ciconia (unless he’s written the scripts of all four episodes already). I’m starting to think we’ll never get the end of that thing.
All I can say now is I REALLY want an Umineko remake now.
Apphie Yu pulling the 2nd persona thing has me convinced that she can pull a good English Bernkastel. Bernkastel showing her true colors is going to be TERRIFYING in english.
Ok, seems I'm a little jumpy at 3 in the morning.
Keiichi: was there an accident or-
Rena: jump cut I don't know
Me: HOLY SHI
Also, Satoko legit piled a bunch of pots and pans on a ceiling and dropped them on a 7-8 year old girl's head.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).It's fine, objects in Higurashi are context-sensitive, they're harmless in comedic scenes.
Satako and Rika are both about 11-12.
Well the trailer for Sotsu is out.
Ritsuko finally makes her appearance. Satako is the culprit of Rika’s death in Onidamashi-hen.
Oh, so Rena will get some focus? Good, she was a bit left aside in Gou.

Looks like we’ll finally be seeing adult shion as well.
The first arc of Sotsu seems like it might be Onidamashi hen from Rena’s perspective. Solution to Onidamashi.
You know, reading Ciconia it’s easy to think "Come on, that many disasters occuring all at once? That couldn’t happen in real life!"
Then I learned about the year 536.
Bubonic plague, famines, wars and uprisings everywhere, all caused by the world being plunged in darkness by a gigantic ash cloud for eighteen months straight. Ciconia’s Illuminati ain’t got nothing on Mother Nature, I tell ya.

I just realized some major pieces of evidence in favor of the “Shion Culprit Theory” and Hanyuu’s Enemy Without Theory”.
1. Shion hasn’t gotten her arc yet. Or very much screen time at all since episode 13.
2. The smoking gun for the “Hanyuu’s Enemy Without Theory” is the fact the sword is missing/broken in the first place.
Hanyuu’s sword is the most closely guarded secret of the Furude family. Only four people are known to have even known about its existance (Hanyuu, Riku Furude, Ouka Furude, Rika Furude). Satako didn’t know it existed before the loops. The sword was not a normal blade either.
This means whoever stole/broke the sword had to have a direct connection to Hanyuu to know about that sword in the first place. I believe the culprit is Eua, and she is connected to Hanyuu the same way Rika is to Bernkastel ie Enemy Without.
Episode 2 of Sotsu is out.
Satako injected Rena while she was sleeping. Rena was already L4 before Watanagashi.
Satako is basically a cheap knock off of Akuma Homura (if she actually was a black hearted sociopath) and Goro Akechi (MO being intentionally inflicting “psychotic breakdowns”).
Ah, so we’re going the "question/answer arcs" route like in the good ol’ days, huh.
This first answer arc does really tell us a whole lot we didn’t already know but it is pretty effectively creepy. I wonder if Rina actually had a genuine change of heart like Teppei…
Theory: Possibly. Without Teppei’s presence acting as a pimp, possible Hazy-Feel Turn.
Welp… At least we know where Satoko got her gun now. She has a very "Rena-ish" side now that I think about it − when she’s set her mind on something, she’s gonna be thorough.
Well, we know what Mion looks like with Hinamizawa Syndrome now. She’s scary in a… different way than Rena or Shion − she keeps that very kind-hearted, almost innocent side, while committing the same kind of atrocities. Except at the very end, when she meets someone crazier than her.
Basically, she becomes a form of dark Anti-Hero that “protects the innocent….by any means nessecary”. Its still really sad to see that she tried to fight HS to the bitter end.

I think I know what’s gonna happen.
Lambadelta is the darkness in Satako’s heart that will be purged from her conciousness at the end of Sotsu. The Logic Error mellows Lambdadelta out into the Chaotic Neutral Wild Card we know her as in Umineko.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Mei smartphone game holds Clannad collaboration from August 13-27
Well that was a crossover I didn't see coming.
I was surprised by this episode’s twist, but I probably shouldn’t be, as that split of consciousness seems to be part of the process to become a Witch.
I’m more curious as to how Teppei was still alive in the Question Arc if Satoko bashed is head into a pulp and Keiichi wasn’t hallucinating.
And here is our regular non-update on when the eff Ciconia Phase 2 is coming out.

Satako’s trap is what caused Keiichi’s head injury. The scene after that is fake.
Hanyuu was hunting Eua down in the timespan of Gou’s episode 14 and 15….she…is….PISSED!!
Also, the Enemy Without Theory got confirmed…in the other direction.
Hanyuu also used the term “her daughter” when describing Rika. Guess that confirms the “Ouka Reincarnation Theory” too.

Episode 15.
Eua just outright admitted it.
So, i started reading umineko a day or 2 back with some friends of mine, and we aren't that far in (everyone just got to the guest house on rokkenjiima and set all their luggage down), but it has been an utter slog just getting there. so, i know umineko is at its heart a mystery story, and those kinds of story's often had openings that tend to drag establishing all the characters and whatnot, planting little seeds of intrigue that will grow as the core mystery becomes apparent, but so far, all lot of the writing has felt very sloppy/not very good for what a lot of people praise as an excellent story. it really feels like an untouched first draft that needed an editor to come in and trim it the fuck down.
Its pacing is slow with dialog and narration repeating itself excessively, and i went in kinda expecting that as its a japanese story and japanesse writing and dialog conventions are very heavy on repeating itself so the information is clear, but in umineko its like overkill. like someone shows a character trait (ex george's ability to work well with kids), then battler will comment on narration the exact trait we saw, and then another character will comment out loud on the exact trait we saw, (often saying the same basic point as the narration), starting a dialog where everyone can chime in on noticing the character's 1 character trait, often not even giving that much of differing viewpoints on said character or said trait. and then the character move 5 feet, and a new scene starts and said character trait gets expressed again, triggering the entire process over again!
and given what i do know about the series, i predict this pacing/narration problem likely won't get better as the story goes on, but i am currently holding out til the inciting incident happens/til we're done with episode 1 (whichever comes first). Maybe once there is a driving plot/mystery at the helm that I can engage in the story more past the honestly poor writing.
(i know this post kinda comes off as disparaging, and so far for as little plot as happened and as many characters that have been introduced, i don't hate them, it just feels like i am having to wade thru a lot of mediocre writing just to engage with them)
I forgot my password, and I want my old Forum handle back!!!
That, or she really killed herself every time she got the code wrong. Either way, she’s become so desensitized that it’s basically as annoying as clicking the reset button when she makes a mistake in a videogame speedrun.
Anyway, I like how she’s slowly but surely turning into Lambdadelta.
Including in how she’s come to see the multiple fragments not as realities but as mere "routes", and the people inside it as pieces rather than people.
