Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
  9. Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
  10. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

NOTE: Edited with OP's permission.

I'd like to add an entry to the Heartwarming.Mass Effect page, under Mass Effect 2:

  • As a bonus for registering Dragon Age: Origins, you can receive the Blood Dragon Armor. It bears the logo of the Edmonton Blood Dragons, a sports team, with the signatures of the entire team on the inside along with messages rooting on and wishing well for Shepard. It's these things that remind you of the people you're fighting to protect and how much they care for everything you do for them.

Characters.Mass Effect 1 Antagonists And Npcs needs The Obi-Wrong renamed to Quickly-Demoted Leader

As does Final Fantasy VII

I apologize. I didn't notice this was locked pages in general. I thought it was for the specific article I arrived here from.

To clarify, I think that there should be an entry added to the Let's Play page for the various anti-walkthroughs on www.it-he.org. These cover several Ultima games, System Shock, The Elder Scrolls, and a few others. I don't know what standard protocol is in this thread. If you'd like, I could write at least part of the entry or I could leave it to another high level editor who is familiar with these.

Avatar, fix the broken hottip,

Also, you still need to fix the Double Standard page. I think you should just remove the South Park mention.

[up] Hottip's fixed, and the latter is fine with me; anyone else?

[up] The problem is that South Park unintentionally shows up under the Double Standards index. Plus, there is lots of incorrect indentation.

[up]No, it's not fine. Look at South Park; there is the Double Standard index bar at the bottom.

I think it's explained on How Indexing Works how to fix this.

[up] I'm meaning to say that South Park, a work, should not be under Double Standard. It is a work, and works, by definition, cannot be double standards. You should fix the indexing, please.

EDIT: And Dropped a Bridget on Him is now Unsettling Gender Reveal.

On this page, there has been a consensus that Rodrigo Borgia from Assassins Creed II doesn't count as a Complete Monster. He is on Video Games page. Can you remove him?

I should've made myself more clear; I meant that removing the South Park entry from that page would be fine with me.

[up] Done.

I think what you gotta do on Double Standard is this:
[[/index]]''WesternAnimation/SouthPark''[[index]]

[down] Huh. When I check that page's history, though, all I see is the removal of the word "and."

I would like to add the following section to Creating New Redirects, but I want to go ahead and get it approved by the staff before I add it in:

    Proposed New Section
On the other hand, the following are valid reasons for creating redirects.
  • If a trope name has valid alternate spellings.
  • If the current trope page has an unintuitive title. Although we value wit, it's also important to be clear. If a trope seems to be misused or underused, a rename or redirect may be in order
  • If multiple works in a series are covered in a single page, it's important to make sure that all the work titles redirect to the correct works page.
  • To preserve or maintain inbounds (links from other sites to pages on this site).
    • Whenever a work is being moved to the proper namespace (such as from Main/ to Literature/). Alternately, whenever sections are being migrated (such as from HighOctaneNightmareFuel/ to NightmareFuel')
    • Whenever a trope page is getting renamed. In general, if a TRS thread determines a new name is needed, all proposals with a positive score should be made into redirects.
    • In general, if there are more than 10 inbounds to a given page, please redirect the page instead of sending it to the Cut List.

Can we get Main.Singularity RPG reinstated as a redirect to Roleplay.Singularity? There are 19 inbounds that need to be recovered.

I now go by Graf von Tirol.

There has been consensus for another removal from Video Games. This guy is also not a Complete Monster, even though he is labeled as such.

  • And also Arius? He enslaves Dumary Island by turning it into a demonic nest, and creates a facade of creating a modern city. If that wasn't enough, he dumps Lucia, one of his creations, when she turns out to be a defect.
