I enjoy languages as well but unfortunately I only know two, English and Latin. I hate English with a passion, even though it is my native tongue. Latin is exponentially more useful than English, because many words in the Romance languages and English derive from Latin, so if you take your time you can gain a basic understanding of what is being written.

Personally I would like to learn German, Russian, Hebrew, Greek, and Japanese. Maybe Finnish too, if it is as a beautiful language some websites make it out to be.

God how am I going to have the time to learn all of these? O_O

Has ADD, plays World of Tanks, thinks up crazy ideas like children making spaceships for Hitler. Occasionally writes them down.

English wasn't my first language, but it's currently my best one. I like it for its lack of dependence on gendered nouns (and forcing adjectives to match) and its loose grammar rules that allow the speaker to shorten or lengthen sentences for poetic effect as needed. These things actually make it grammatically very similar to Chinese.

Does anyone know where I can go for help on Ancient Greek? I don't plan to learn it in full, but I'm using Greek roots in some of the place and creature names I'm making.

A "werewolf" is a Lycanthrope, from "Lykaon" the wolf king and "Anthropos", meaning "man"

What would a crocodile man be called? "Suchanthrope"? What about a spider? "Arachnanthrope"?

My mother tongue is Hungarian, then I started learning German in elementary school and added English in high school (though with games and subtitled movies I was exposed to it from a young age.)note  Currently I'm learning Japanese and French, but I love languages and wish to learn more (such as Spanish).

My big problem is that I want to learn obscure languages with little to no precedent set in teaching stuff. Like sure Diné Bizaad (Navajo) has a duolingo, but without parallel instruction on the specifics and cultural touchpoints, it's like Bela Lugosi memorizing his lines phonetically.

Yá'át'ééh, btw. (That is not accurately accented, but for the life of me I can't get Navajo ketboard apis to work.)

Oh and my partner is learning Russian out of spite because he really wants to read all of the Metro books.
