Just give Sceptile Calm Mind or Nasty Plot. Would fix everything. The big problem is that it can’t boost itself. If it could, it would get so much stronger and used way more.
I discover my own destiny as I command the winds of life!I guess ny issue with alot of Megas is their a great concept. But often don't look that great and it seems game freak themselves knew. As Roaring moon is a much better done take on mega salamance
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."What? Lots of Megas look great IMO, Tyranitar, Mawile, Charizard X, Metagross, Gengar, Gyarados, Camerupt, and Blaziken off the top of my head.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.that's because salamance its self is the problem not it's mega.
hey red did you see my mega Hydreigon concept?

After 10 year plus years I have the confidence to be here. Let's give it EVERYTHING we've got! It's...PUNISHMENT TIMEThe only Mega that I think is poorly designed in terms of appearance is Manectric. They just Sharpied in a big yellow lightning bolt on its body and called it a day.
It's been 3000 years…Agreed. Salamence was always an awkward design with its tiny legs and stiff wings. Mega Salamence did the best it could with what it had.
Yeah.
I think giving a Mega Hydreigon Sheer Force would help it a Lot more than immunity to Earth.
Also I prefer my Hydreigon a special attacker.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.you didn't read the fine print, it gains all the advantages and disadvantages of the steel type making it a triple type monstrosity that is only affected by the fighting type as its only weakness also it's more of a mixed attacker then pure special.

After 10 year plus years I have the confidence to be here. Let's give it EVERYTHING we've got! It's...PUNISHMENT TIMEOne thing I'm wondering is if any of the legendary groups will gain a new member, much like how the Forces of Nature got Enamorus in Legends: Arceus.
Imagine if we got a third horse to join Glastrier and Spectrier.
There possibly being two more is something I’ve seen as a recurring speculation.
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’Salamence works better as a design once one sees it as a Komodo dragon dragon. The Devilman wings do not quite work IMO tho.
I just find Salamence design to be boring as just the classic dragon with little else to its name.

Rejoice emulator fans. Suck it Apple!
I discover my own destiny as I command the winds of life!I find mega designs to be pretty evenly split between solid upgrades, decent, and weird and bad. Gamefreak is pretty clearly having difficulty producing them in the mass they need to for mega evolution to be a central mechanic
Focus on an animation gimmick with its tail, which also leads into making the Mega even more special-based, instead of fixing Sceptile's problem of mostly physical movepool and signature move but higher SpAtk stat
What Sceptile needed was a physical based Mega, not an attempt for Contrary Serperior 2.0 that's bad because it doesn't have Contrary
The animation gimmick isn't even worth it to have because it's not applied to all special moves that a Sceptile would use, just a select few of them, so you rarely see the animation that the Mega is made for anyway, meaning they made a useless Mega just to showcase a barely used animation gimmick

So why assume the entire mega’s gameplay design was based off of one animation when as you pointed out the animation doesn’t even apply to all of them?
It is an odd choice to give Sceptile higher Special than Physical.
It does still have decent Physical, but considering it's signature move is based off it's Physical, you'd think they'd raise that up more in both it's base form and it's Mega form.
Because essentially, you're not getting all you could out of Sceptile if you're not giving it a special set, but as I said in a previous post about the subject, it feels wrong to not give it Leaf Blade.
One Strip! One Strip! So in the past I've asked about good ROM Hacks, but I'd like to get a bit more specific—are there any good ones specifically based off of Gen II games? I've always had a fondness for that era, and would love to play something similar, particularly something that fixed the questionable level curve and Pokémon distribution of GSC.
Oh God! Natural light! The physical special split didnt happen in gen 3, so Leaf Blade would have still been a special attack based on its Grass typing. minor nerd lesson from past generations.
Oh! There's this one GSC rom hack that gives you a Larvitar friend like Pikachu in Pokemon Yellow.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Pokémon Crystal Legacy might be up your alley if you’re also ok with major trainers getting their teams overhauled.
Crystal Clear turns Gen 2 into a more open world experience, letting you start in either Johto or Kanto and gain badges in just about any order. Trainer levels also depend on the number of badges you have, and there's a few extra things added in too.
The massive Gen 2 romhack is Prism though. Whole new region, a ton of new mechanics, new types that are kind of redundant, and since it's a sequel to Pokemon Brown, you get some callbacks and references to that game and its' region.
I've always used Sceptile as a mixed attacker.
That is the main thing being promoted when they showcase Mega Sceptile. And yet, that's the weird thing, the animation doesn't even apply to all of its special moves.
So what's the point? Might as well ignore the animation gimmick altogether and fix Sceptile.
What’s wrong with Mega Sceptile?
