...I'm not sure.
Named for the art of Frank Frazetta, Frazetta Man is the generic subhuman native
Those traits are what come to mind when I hear "subhuman savages" because that's what I've picked up as the traits.

Fight smart, not fair.Probably from a combination of the name, page image and this line in the description: "Your basic Frazetta Man has the wiry build of a chimpanzee, though he is generally around human size if not larger. He'll be covered in hair (usually not fur)..." Mostly the name and page image, for me, though. The way Deboss describes it is classic Frazetta apeman.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.That's definitely a trope, I'm not sure if it's this one though. Either way, the this trope is getting renamed, right?

Fight smart, not fair.Savage Man?
Basic but I think it fits really well.
Somehow, I'm starting to think that this trope's description might be in need of a wee bit of tightening, plus a couple of YKTTW launches. I'm seeing opportunities for Pulp Novel Savage, Ape Man, and Hollywood Caveman as separate tropes.
What's precedent ever done for us?This thread expired after 60 days of inactivity.
None, of those characteristics that you listed are in the trope description or fit most of the examples. Where are you getting them from Deboss?
