Joker of Earth-2 decides to destroy the vibrational tower protecting his universe from the anti-matter wave, just to see what happens next. He infects Jim Gordon with Joker toxin and uses him as a distraction to get around the tower’s defenses, blowing him up after he dies from laughter. Joker has Solomon Grundy and Killer Croc keep the Batfamily and guard busy, while he blows up the tower and dooms the universe.

When he wants precious stones that are buried under the land of the Mugabee race, the Colonialist turns the race with whom they share their planet against them, leading to the genocide of the Mugabee. Thanks @ The Fall Guy (2024)

  • The filming of the battle scene at the Sydney Opera House has stunt double Colt dishing out awesome action hero fight moves while keeping the camera from getting too good a look at his face and looking perfectly natural doing it, finishing the whole scene in one afternoon.
  • Colt, attack dog Jean-Claude, and Alma (using a water bottle) all fight back well against a group of kidnappers while careening down the road in a truck.
  • Colt and Dan fight off a group of armed mercenaries with just their fists, a prop tomahawk, and a gun loaded with blanks.
  • When some goons try to burn Colt alive, he catches some of the gasoline they are pouring on him in his mouth, spits it out as they get out their torch, lighting their leader on fire, then runs for it and drives off in a boat despite his hands being tied behind his back.
  • Colt does the longest car jump in history, with explosions going off and a panicking Ryder inside the car to scare Ryder into an Engineered Public Confession (and since he is the one wearing the wire, claiming entrapment is a lot harder for him).
  • Dan, Jean-Claude, and a lot of other stunt men and crew members take on an army of goons and wipe the floor with them with a mixture of athleticism and a willingness to use pulleys and other stunt devices in a Combat Pragmatism manner.
  • When Ryder and Gail try to flee with the evidence in a helicopter, Colt grabs the rotors, climbs in to get the evidence back after a long fight, and then lets himself fall dozens of feet into a giant air mattress his friends have waiting for him.

@ The Gods Themselves

  • Bait-and-Switch: At the beginning of Part III, it initially seems as if the protagonist, a scientist who was disgraced after trying to raise awareness about the risks of the electron pump, is Latham, the protagonist of Part I, before it turns out he is actually Chekhov's Gunman Denison.

@‘The King Nobody Wanted

With all the world building into the Riverlands and its families, sooner or later the Teagues and Justmans will get more said about them and maybe even have relatives of theirs appear.

@ Cold Case

  • "The Goodbye Room" is full of suspects who, despite certain flaws, tend to have both remorse and understandable motives for their worst actions. But Bill West treats his wife more like a slave than a partner, forces his daughter to go to a miserable home for unwed mothers when she gets pregnant, despite getting his own wife pregnant out of wedlock, and obstructs the investigation into her death, all to protect his reputation. According to his wife (who also compares her treatment at his hands to that of a slave), he also does all of this without any apparent remorse or sympathy, before or after his daughter's death.

@ YMMV Halloween 4

  • This could have been further developed by having one or both Meekers compare Kelly and her situation to Annie Brackett (who they likely knew) rather than just having her be a Suspiciously Similar Substitute.

@ Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: As good as the twist and world building about Mae being an intelligent human from a Hidden Elf Village is, it can feel disappointing that the film doesn't live up to the trailer's promise to actually give the feral humans their day in the limelight (even Nova, their most prominent prior representative, is more of a Satellite Love Interest) and a chance to form a partnership with the more sympathetic Apes on their own.

@ Kingdom Come

  • Unexpected Character:
    • While Lord Naga (the Kobra leader) and the King of the Royal Flush Gang are a step above C-List Fodder, they aren't the first people that come to mind for the average fan imagining a council of supervillain remnants in a Used Future.
    • Among the returning heroes, while some of them were more likely candidates to appear in a story like this than others, Powerman (the last Superman robot), a Metal Men Fusion Dance, and Ganthet the Last Guardian are among the more obscure choices for a story like this.

@ Wonka

  • Was the Chief of Police really refusing to go after Wonka throughout most of the "Sweet Tooth," scene, or was he just haggling for a better price?

Hello I have some entries to check for spelling and grammar errors

Total Drama: Battle of the Generations

  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Dave wasn’t really popular in the show due to his whinny personality and his creepy obsession with Sky which led to his Face–Heel Turn upon learning that she has a boyfriend. However, With fans will come to enjoy this villainous version of Dave when he orchestrated the eliminations of two deeply disliked contestants, Amy and Sugar, and continue to commit many more villainous deeds while still remaining a sympathetic character. It also helps Sky is not competing with Dave this time allowing Dave to develop more as his own character instead of remaining a Satellite Love Interest.
  • Rooting for the Empire: Once Dave fully embraces is role as the Big Bad, he’s become a much more interesting character while still retaining his sympathetic qualities with many actually rooting for him to win. It also helps that the first two people opposing Dave is Amy, a Big Sister Bully who wished her sister had died in the womb, and Sugar, a gross Fat Bitch who basically got away with her actions in Pakitehew Island, both of whom were eliminated by Dave.

Total Drama

  • Foil: Damien is one to Priya in terms of being newcomers who were on the same team in both seasons they competed in. However, Priya knew what kind of show Total Drama is as a result of being trained by her parents to compete in it her entire life, while Damien never even heard about the show until his friends dared him to compete in it.

TheArtifact.Real Life:

  • The City of Houston seal and flag feature a steam locomotive on them. When the seal was created in 1840, Houston was considered a massive railroad hub in the southern United States, so the locomotive makes sense to reflect that. However, Houston would lose its place as a major railway hub when Union Station (now Minute Maid Park) was shuttered in 1971 and Houstonians began to move away from trains in favor of cars and airplanes, making the locomotive's presence seem outdated by today's standards (especially since unlike many other major cities, Houstonians aren't as fond of railroads, often viewing them as an annoyance, with most attempts at building a new passenger rail service (outside of the Metrorail light rail service) either getting cancelled or stuck in Development Hell), even more so given that Houston lacks a major steam locomotive presence.note  There have been proposals to redesign the flag and seal to better reflect Houston today, but there has yet to be a serious attempt to replace either.

YMMV.LEGO:

  • Americans Hate Tingle: Unlike in the West, LEGO is not very popular in Japan. This stems from several factors, like Japanese homes being too small to fit massive LEGO sets, the sets being seen as luxury toys for kids, the general lack of Japanese IPs, and Japan's preference towards model kits over construction sets. That said, LEGO has been making some strides to gain a foothold in Japan, such as building a LEGOLAND in Tokyo and incorporating more Japanese IPs such as Super Mario Bros., Animal Crossing, and Transformers. Despite this, LEGO is still considered niche in Japan compared to the West. Tellingly, while The LEGO Movie was a massive hit in the West, it did poorly at the Japanese box office (though that is also partly thanks to it being released around the same time as Disney's megahit Frozen).

YMMV.Anne Of Green Gables 1979

  • Fan-Preferred Couple: While the anime features Ship Tease between Anne and Gilbert (who eventually become the Official Couple in the books), if fanart is any indication, fans of the anime tend to prefer Anne/Diana instead due to the Les Yay stemming from their Pseudo-Romantic Friendship. This is unlike the fandom of the books and most other adaptations, where Anne/Gilbert is the more popular ship.
  • Fandom-Enraging Misconception: Don't mistake the anime as a Studio Ghibli production unless you want to annoy fans, as the anime predates Ghibli's founding by six years and was done by Nippon Animation. In all fairness, the anime does have the involvement of Ghibli co-founders Isao Takahata and Hayao Miyazaki as a director and key animator, respectively (though the latter would leave after the first 15 episodes).

The Saboteur

  • Cold-Blooded Torture: After Sean and Jules are captured, the latter is brutally tortured and it is implied that Dierker removed his eyes. Given the circumstances, the bullet to his brain is almost a merciful act. Later, as Sean is escaping the facility, he passes by other rooms where he can hear the screams of other victims.
  • Tragic Keepsake: The satchel bag that Sean carries with him throughout the game originally belonged to Jules.

Trolls Band Together:

  • Foreshadowing: When Branch and his brothers have fun performing together foreshadows their strong family bond, as it ended up saving Floyd.
  • Heartwarming:
    • John Dory happily watches Poppy and Spruce's kids chanting prove it to his brother. Also, John Dory gets excited when Spruce comes up on stage with him, as he gives his brother two thumps up.
    • During rehearsal for the perfect family harmony, John Dory didn't complain that his brothers coordinated both their boyband and current outfits, as he was also okay with Spruce wearing his necklace and Branch wearing his hug-time bracelet.

Sensual Phrase

Aine

  • Troubled Fetal Position: Aine finds herself in a distressed fetal position whenever she's uncertain about continuing as Λucifer's lyricist or when the challenges of being Sakuya's girlfriend become too overwhelming.
  • Tender Tears: Aine is a person who is highly attuned to her emotions and may experience feelings of sadness or distress more easily than others. In light of her present circumstances, it is natural for anyone in her situation to be overcome with emotion and have tears in their eyes.
  • Yoko Oh No: Aine faced an attack by Λucifer's fanatics, and her friend Sakura abandoned her when she discovered that Aine was dating Sakuya. This revelation did not sit well with Sakuya, who devised a plan to teach Sakura a lesson and remind her that Aine's life was not a bed of roses.

Pokemon S 7 E 38 Cruisin For A Losin

With Ash's help, May gains important insight into the significance of not underestimating her Pokemon or the victories they achieve. Regrettably, she learns this lesson the hard way during the Rubello Contest through a difficult personal experience.

  • Big Brother Instinct: In this episode, Ash once again demonstrates his trait of maintaining composure. Despite May's two consecutive outbursts, Ash remains calm and doesn't engage in an argument with her. Later, when May loses to Savannah in the Rubello Contest semi-finals and receives severe criticism from the judges for her behavior, Ash goes outside to talk to her and offer comfort. It's possible that Ash's forgiving attitude towards May stems from seeing her genuine regret for her mistake. In his mind, May has already been through enough, and he feels no need to add to her misery.

One Piece: Monkey D. Luffy

Gear Five

  • Unstoppable Force Meets Immovable Object: In the Egghead arc, Saturn becomes an "immovable object" against Gear 5 Luffy's "unstoppable force." Saturn's Deadly Gaze can either blow up heads at a glance or act as an especially damaging attack when used on the Straw Hats. However, when used on Luffy, he acts like he just received an invisible punch in the head and shrugs it off without issue. Luffy can casually overpower Saturn and Admiral Kizaru simultaneously, even making the admiral-class fighter cough blood from his mere grip strength. Nevertheless, whereas Kizaru gets knocked down whenever Luffy directly hits him, Saturn's bizarre Healing Factor ensures he can recover from any damage inflicted almost endlessly. No matter how imaginative or damaging the hit he lands, Luffy gripes that Saturn always retaliates without letting up once. Due to the urgency of needing to halt Vegapunk's worldwide broadcast after his Dead Man's Switch is activated, Saturn has to summon the rest of the Elders to aid him in overcoming the stalemate, as he cannot bypass Luffy alone.

Pokémon the Series: XY — Main Cast

  • Team Hand-Stack: To emphasize their unity, the group occasionally likes to perform a hand stack, where they stack their hands on top of each other. It is a simple yet powerful gesture that symbolizes their solidarity and mutual support.

Thanks

@ Synthetic Plague

  • Jeremiah: In the pilot, Jeremiah suggests the Only Fatal to Adults Big Death plague, which claimed six billion lives before burning itself out, was made as a bioweapon by some scientist who accidentally let it escape from his controlled laboratory environment before his own country was ready to contain it. Later episodes confirm this theory, and reveal that the people behind the plague survived in the Raven Rock bunker. They have since refined the Big Death to kill adults and children and are scheming to unleash it again to cleanse the world of their enemies once they can make a vaccine for their own loyalists on the surface.

@ Apocalypse Not

  • Jeremiah: The first few scenes establish that The Big Death and its Teenage Wasteland aftermath killed six billion people (including every known adult), leaving the child survivors struggling to fend for themselves when they didn't fall into barbarism. However, the early episodes introduce a few functioning communities and establish that Hidden Elf Village Thunder Mountain has been working to form alliances and help spread knowledge about farming and other useful skills while trying to restore democracy and a good standard of living. They begin to succeed in a big way throughout the series.

@ Star Wars Legends

  • Betl Oxtroe is only in a few sourcebooks, but has a lot of fans for being one of the first female Imperial admirals and for her attempt to combine the Empire and Rebellion into a parliamentary monarchy with Elderatth Pallopides (a distant Palpatine relative too young to have gotten up to anything sinister and who also has her fans despite never being mentioned outside sourcebooks) as an Authority in Name Only figure.

@ Spy School However, the files containing all those revelations turn out to have been planted for the heroes to find, making it questionable how much, if any, of that Historical Rap Sheet is real.

@ The Force Unleashed

  • Galen isn't the first Legends Force user to use force telekinesis to move or halt the movement of an entire star destroyer, with Rivi-Anu having done that while making a Heroic Sacrifice in a Clone Wars Adventures comic two years before the game.

The Saboteur

  • Implied Death Threat: Before Sean goes off to kill Dierker, Bishop asks Sean if he peeked into the contents of the box, with Wilcox blocking Sean's path while holding a shotgun. Even though Sean did take a peek, he doesn't really care about what the SOE intends to do with it and just tells them it's not his concern. Bishop then allows Sean to walk away freely.
  • He Knows Too Much: Subverted. After delivering the box to the SOE, Bishop inquires of Sean whether he had taken a look inside. Even though Sean did take a quick look, he restates Bishop's earlier statement that it's none of his business. Pleased with the response, Bishop grants Sean the freedom to go about his way.
