So...what did y'all think?

I actually didn't see the first but read summaries, but I think this one was better in that it didn't have people intentionally provoking a demon. That was a plus.

I think it's best for people who've seen the first to see it because you'll realize faster than I did that the events in the first movie happened because of a family trying to save their own skins. A real horrific version of I Did What I Had to Do.

Seeing the baby being pulled up the crib was either Narm or terrifying, I don't know.

I've just seen the film, and I found the baby being pulled out the cot/crib to be Narm. Everyone was laughing. But the bit where all the cupboards fly open was seriously scary.

^ The funny thing is, people in my theater freaked out more when he was being pulled up than when he was being dragged. I think not everyone realized when it started because it was so slow. I had the opposite reaction.

And yeah, that scene absolutely freaked me out.

I went in expecting something like the first film and to laugh the entire time since "Hey, it'll be just like the first and they can't throw anything new at me.".... What I got was a film just like the first, and up until shadows started to appear I did laugh. After that.... Well I think my heart was beating fast enough to rival if I had jogged the entire rest of the movie. And nothing beats the 20 minute drive back home in the middle of the night to the country.

I really liked it.

I found it slow at some points and wasn't that scared through most of, but it was a really good experience watching it in the cinema. It's definitely a film that must be seen in the cinema. Once it picked up (I'd say after the cupboards exploding open) it got really good, it's just slow to start.

For the record I found the baby dragging to be Narm, but mostly because someone in the cinema shouted out 'OH MY GOD THE BABY IS GROWING!'

I really enjoyed it. It's probably my favorite movie I've seen in the theatre this year.

I went into it totally unspoiled about the fact that it was Katie's sister. I had several "Ohhhhhhhh!" and "Oh shit!" moments throughout. It was very well done.

I liked it. Course I'm a sucker for Camcorder movies and I loved the first one so...yeah.

I have not seen this yet! I really want to, and i might ditch out homecoming dance to see it with some friends lol. Is it better than the first? The first was scary... but not as scary as they made it appear on tv commercials. :/

To anyone who has seen it, could you answer something for me? My friend refuses to see it unless she knows whether the baby dies or not.

[up] He doesn't, but being in the care of a homicidal demon-posessed lady doesn't seem too bright for his future.

The first was better. Also, the dad may be the biggest jerkass in cinematic history. The friend I saw it with thought he was being rational but I thought he was just being a jerk.

I think they could do one more movie that either goes back to when they were kids and shows you how it all started or a full sequel but with the sequel, it's kind of hard to see where it would go.

I expect the producers to skip ahead twenty years and expand the setting outside the house. Of course, that would probably mean a sixteen year wait between sequels and a lot of pissed off fans if you changed the format.

I'm kind of hoping that they stop with this one. The story of the family is pretty much complete now, and I fear that them trying to explore in more detail what the entity is and what drives it might kill some of the experience for me.

That said, if I hear that a new one is coming out I'll probably go into squee'ing fanboy mode regardless.tongue

Well it seems a 3rd one might be possible but they're going to be really careful about where they go with it so they don't screw it up and try not to piss of a great number of fans

I jumped out of my skin when all the cupboard doors in the kitchen flew open but because I'm oh-so-cruel I laughed at a lot of the other stuff.

But it still creeped me out, especially seeing the mother getting dragged down the stairs and thrown/locked into the basement.

[up] That was an actual jump moment for me as well, and one that made me glad to be watching it in the theatre... there's just something about the surround sound and the reaction of the audience that can give a scene like that so much more oomph.

I just came back from seeing this one. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. As far as horror sequels go, this one wasn't bad at all. I'm kinda hoping this'll be the last one  Cynic Alert

, but hey, they've made one good sequel, why not make another one?
