Sign-up Sheet

Yes, Lockon, I stole that last part from you.

The year is 2060. 30 years ago Earth was connected to another world of magic and wonder via a mass of magical portals created on the other world by its inhabitants to flee from invasion by hordes of monsters from the north. Millions of fleeing beings - who were thought to only exist in legends and myths, known collectively as "Fey" - poured onto the Earth seeking refuge. In a last desperate attempt to survive the peoples of the other world drew the magic the land itself to leave it forever.

Unfortunetly the monsters followed them through the portals and attacked humanity as well. And the portals closed. Battle erupted across the planet as the nations of Earth fought off the invaders. Eventually the mosters were exterminated, at great cost to humanity though.

Fast foward to 2060 and the problems over the great migration have not gone away. The human nations and the Fey refugees and their offspring have grown more belligerant towards each other over the years, cultural and species clashing in ways neither were prepared for. It has gotten so out of hand that in the USA there has been a growing movement for the Fey to band together and form their own nation in the Northeast.

Here is where the RP starts. Players pick their characters with the addition of whether they are human or Fey (and if Fey which mythological creature are you) and their actions will determine whether the US will have its two sides learn to live together or are doomed to ethnic conflict and war.

This is the first RP I have ever attempted to launch, so advice and whatever you have to offer would be greatly appreciated. If this gets enough interest here I'll start a Sign-Up sheet and move the plot over there.

I'm quite Interested in this RP... I might be Fey, but I'm leaning toward the Human Side.

Last Defense Line.

I figured something along the lines of:

NAME:
SPECIES:(Specify which mythologicl creature you are if Fey.)
SEX:
AGE:
OCCUPATION:
STATE:
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:(Physical appearance, history, personality, where they stand of the human and fey conflict)

Blast! Beaten to It. I suppose I'll save the Middle Earth meets Information Age for another time as it'd be too similar tho... Good luck.

Att Obl 227: Well we need people on both sides to get this working so either is fine.

This looks really interesting! So, what kind of mythological creatures are allowed?

Yeah, I was about to ask that too.

I'm either going to play some kind of Government Inspector or Agent- Not a MIB, exactly, but similar.

However, if I can use some of the crazier mythologies...

Any mythology is fine, so long as yuo don't go overboard and make a race of Thors or something. No gods allowed.

I don't really know alot of mythology beyond Greek to be honest but I encourage different mythological beings from different peoples. This is a story of clashing culteres after all, what better way to represent that then to be beings that your average joe isn't familiar with, even from watching Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter as a kid?

Well, this sounds interesting. The fact that you chose the Northeast for the new Fey state seems intentional. Whatever conservatives are like in 2060, they're probably going to object to immigrants seceding from the union in the very heart of American.

Not sure what race I'm playing yet. On one hand, I'd like to play a Fey that's adjusted, though not happily, to life as a white-collar office worker. On the other hand, playing a human who wishes for conciliatory actions with the Fey also appeals to me.

Oh, whoops, I meant Northwest, or everything between Iowa and Oregon.

You character is fine. This is an RP about the people, and ordinary folks as well as high up leaders will be influencing things in ways they never imagined.

Why can't it be in the Northeast? At the least, it'll make it interesting.

I figured the Fey would go for the least human populated area that wasn't a desert.

Though I suppose we could just switch that around if we really wanted to.

Any objections to making the rogue state be in the Northeast instead of west?

So when will signups come along?

Edit: HERK!

I feel dumb now.

Hey, how about we have the Fae in the Midwest too (IE Cornfields and such tongue) and in the east, but with the east being more controversial? Because the Pennsylvania Dutch would be an interesting addition to the whole problem.

The fey make up about 1/6 of the nation's population at this point. They are everywhere really. Its just in the northeast that the situation has deteriorated to the point of rebellion, but that doesn't mean things are going smoothly everywhere else.

Ken Yamato and Sarah Wheeler. You'll be seeing them on the news station you all watch. They'll be providing exposition on whats going on in the country. You might even make the news yourself.
