Discuss.

Also, due to my parents never telling me anything, the start-up may be delayed, hopefully no longer than a week and a half or so. Best case senario, I have regular internet access and am able to log on and post once or twice a day, slowing the start. Worst case senario, I don't have internet and take about two weeks to get back, delaying the start up.

I dunno about everyone else, but I'm thinking that due to the number of characters using Giant Germ, it's going to wind up the subject of Memetic Mutation.

Giant Germs, Germ yeah! Always there to make you cough up blood! Giant Germs, Germ yeah!

"Now my Giant Germ will attack your Giant Germ!"

"Not so fast, I equip your Giant Germ with Germ Infection!"

Yeah, well I summon Tribe Infecting Virus and select Fiend as the target type!"

"Ah-hah! But that wipes out YOUR germ, too!"

"Yeah, well even if you summon another, I still have Ekibyo Drakmord in my hand from last time!"

"You MONSTER!"

Finally, a forum RP that Scott Ian can relate to!

On a more constructive note,we could get the RP started with a freeform "Everybody meets on the boat there" scene, which would require little to no G Ming to do.

That sounds like a good idea, penguin-kun.

Also, I have to ask something- is the curse thing supposed to be as bad as Cyrus' version? Because Scott's manifestation of it is mostly just having a chance at... well most everything taken from him through his disability, and also having his mostly-sound life slowly eroded(which hasn't happened quite yet)...

No, Cyrus just got the worst of the s***. Maybe he was a more direct descendant or something. He just got seriously affected. Maybe his curse made his curse worse? Who knows.

On another note, some additional rules:

Against NPC duelists, you will control both your deck and your opponent's deck. For other Academy-goer NPC's, you are free to choose a deck type. For cultists, you will be given a deck type to fight. Interventions and help will be possible in such duels.

Unless it is strictly against the forum rules (which I don't think it is), minor swearing is allowed (damn, hell, etc., no F-bombs, S-bombs, and NO C-bombs).

At certain points, deck switches will become available. Certain deck types will be given, and anyone may take one of them (and each deck type will only be usable once) and build a deck out of them. Deck switches are not mandatory. You will need to post your new deck list on the sign-up conversation before using. Only one duel will have a new deck without a list, and it is a plot duel between me and my GM.

Any questions?

If a tree falls in the forest So, when the time comes to upgrade, you'll give us a list of approved deck types? Is this so players don't end up with the same deck types as one another, or am I just misunderstanding you?

Angela's under the curse, and she's completely free of injuries and physical disabilities. Unless you count her personality as an effect of the curse, the only real misfortune that's befallen her as a result of it is her precious experience with Duel Monsters.

It's partly because some decks might turn out to utterly and completely fail, and partly for change: if, for example, River does nothing but Substitoad+Dupe Frog (complete invulnerability) every duel, it's going to get boring after a while. It's also partly so that my characters can be varied with decks I like to use (:P) and to show characterization: if, for example, someone pulls out all the Wickeds, Yubels, Sacred Beasts, etc., they're probably pissed at the world and ready to kill someone, while the person who dumps every Fiend in their deck for lighter and softer Fairies might have loosened up a bit, et cetera.

Or they think the deck type is cool, y'know.

The combo above is not COMPLETELY invulnerable, as there are cards that can get damage through a defense position monster.

I use it IRL, and it usually stalls long enough to get Wetlands and another monster, sacrifice with Substitoad to get Unifrog, and start beatsticking your opponent with a direct attack 1600 atk monster that can destroy a spell/trap every turn.

Not saying it isn't nasty, just saying it CAN be beaten.

Wait, we need to make OTHER PEOPLE'S decks? T-T I didn't even make my own! And I only own two decks that I could give to these things... *Sigh* I guess I'll be seeing a lot of online deck recipes.

No, you don't have to. And if you're feeling uncreative, just throw utter crap into their deck (wait, how did this random ritual get in here? Is this a... Pokemon card? OMFG BLACK LUSTER SOLDIER... OMFG WHERE'S THE RITUAL.

And such.

And the deck-switching is optional.

Eh, yeah, but I don't want to be cheating by making other characters, who have a 2 in 3 chance of being in a higher dorm than me, have absolute crap decks. XP

Now, in canon, there are only four Blue Eyes White Dragons in the entire world. Are we beholden to that, or can we kind of assume Industrial Illusions released reprints if we need to use them?

There are more than four BEWDS. There are, however, only one of each Wicked, Sacred Beast, Yubel, or other supernatural cards (possibly of Rainbow Dragon, but probably not).

Hey, I found something interesting. About halfway though the third paragraph, it mentions all females are placed in Obelisk Blue, because only it has a female dorm. Unless everyone wants me to pull two dorm building out of thin air, all female character will have to be Obelisk.

I'd like to say something about that, actually- looking at the Ra Yellow page, they have a female uniform, hinting that they were originally planned to have girls, not to mention Blair... I'll also say that this is supposedly farther in the future of GX- up to 5D's time. You'd think that'd be enough time to make two new dorms. Just saying.

Okay, I think I have an idea:

Looking at the duel academy map, to the west, there is a road from the harbor to the school: between the road and ocean, the two Slifer dorms will be 1) on the cliff (boys') and next to the road (girls').

South of the main building, there is a lake: the Ra boys' dorm is somewhere south of that, so the girls' dorm will be on the south shore of the lake, with a boathouse for all dorms.

I'm also thinking about doing something with the north face of the volcano. Any suggestions?

Hmmm... let me think... If you mean something special as in plot-related, I can't help you there. Otherwise, I'd suggest something like a student lounge or gym or... I don't know, a shopping area? (You'd think this island private school would have something like that last one...)

Yeah... The students SERIOUSLY need a place to buy new cards. If you've got a school for card games, you gotta sell the cards somewhere on campus.

Actually, there's ALREADY a card shop, but that's the only shop I know of on campus. It's in the main building along with the school.

Oh... Never watched GX, so I didn't know. ^_^; Does it sell single cards, or just boosters and preconstructed decks? Or was that never established?

Maybe the north face of the volcano is considered too dangerous for official use, but it's used as a Black Market area for people looking to make some money off cards they shouldn't have, for one reason or another. (Also, beware of counterfeits.)

It could also be a popular place for serious duels between rivals, since the location seems nice and dramatic. (If it's this AND the black market, expect a few people to bet on these duels.)
