Does anyone else think the recent Mega Tokyo strips make no sense whatsoever? It's like a bad anime... people are spouting nonsense that makes it sound like Miho is a dream or something, when we know quite well she's a real person. "Bound to her by her tragedy"? What the hell?

Just a bit. I'm betting Gallagher has some devious plan to make sense of it, though. I've also noticed that it stopped making sense really when it got to the Cave of Evil. Before that, Piro's account made sense, so I think all this jibberish might be have some greater purpose, like further awakening Yuki's powers or something.

Disclaimer:wild mass guess I have been wrong before. It's not going to stop now.

Well, considering that half the case in MT views the world through the wrong paradigms, and act accordingly, I'm not surprised that the guy who hangs around Mioh in a bar with the name "Cave of Evil" wearing pseudo-gothic clothing talks cryptically.

-*shrug*

We've had hints that Miho wasn't quite 'normal', or entirely well, for a loooong time now- the first blatant clue was when she was 'quite full' after apparently eating Piro and Largo's emotional distress rather than her cake. And Yuki being the 'only one able to love her' may be more a reference to her Magical Girl nature than anything really special about the mob- Miho is her counterpart, the Dark Magical Girl of this generation, apparently... or at least as far as Yuki's concerned (this being Megatokyo, I wouldn't be all that surprised to find out that every single high school has its own Magical Girl, or set thereof).

Also, the Cave of Evil seems to be something more from Largo's side of the Megatokyo world; giant robots and whatnot. Yuki and her family are balanced rather precariously between Largo's world and Piro's; after all, her dad pilots a Humongous Mecha, her mom is a(n ex?-)magical girl fueled by the Power of Love (and Yuki seems to have inherited her powers), but at the same time her dad is the cop who came into the shop looking for Erika after the mini-riot thing after the fact that she was an ex-idol came out, and Yuki is the Ordinary High-School Student who is Piro's art student. Anyways, all I'm trying to say there is that the Cave of Evil is always going to be a bit strange, and Yuki being there is only going to compound the problem.

Really, Largo seems to inhabit Shounen Japan while Piro lives in Shoujo Japan.

That, too. Last time things started getting nonsensical, Largo was involved, and it resulted in a Zombie riot. That is assuming my memory is not faulty.

Yeah, the first thing that came to mind is "the stuff coming out of this guy's mouth sounds like Largo talking." The problem is, though, that despite all the weirdness in the comic, nobody has ever talked like that except Largo. Largo's 1337 buddy had some lines that were similar, but they were really just overly dramatic speech which still made sense. I don't recall any of the "weirder" characters actually being as nonsensical as Largo was, which is why I'm a bit discombobulated now.

The very severe Schedule Slip isn't helping either. 8-( We're down to 1-2 strips per week.

I liked it more when Rodney was still around. Now it...Just doesn't interest me.

With Rodney, there was more comedy and less drama. I like the drama but sometimes it's overdone a bit. Like now.

I don't know, I actually like the drama. I feel alone in that regard. Everyone else just likes complaining about how it's no longer funny.

Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, it's just...

I see the flaws in the comic, but I don't feel like walking away from it. I'm more annoyed at the constant Schedule Slippage than the plot. I have been confused like this in the past and the solution usually is to wait it out, then Archive Trawl to put the pieces together.

But yeah, right now I don't even want to speculate what the hell is going on.

True. It's that patience thing, it always comes back to bite me. 8p

I'm one of those rare people who like Fred's deft handling of relationships *more* than the more light-hearted craziness that was around at the beginning.

As for the comic, once again I'm not quite sure what is going on. Usually my confusion wanes as the story goes on.

What's up with that last panel?

I think the last panel is a transition back to the Endgame world.

It looks like ping is running from that bad guy from Sony. I think he has something in his hand. She's running straight in the second to last panel but makes a turn in the last.

Thanks Adam.

I didn't interpret the comic like that: I think Miho is a natural or accidental occurrence, which EDSes might have been intended to replicate.

I think I have no freaking clue and am going to have to wait and see. The last ten or so strips have been some of the most confusing in the comic so far.

Miho is a created character within a webcomic's fiction that has already broken through one layer of Fourth Wall.

Here's my take: Miho is an ordinary girl who's undergone mental conditioning to think she's an EDS who thinks she's a zombie queen who thinks she's a magical girl who thinks she's a vampire who thinks she's a vamp who thinks she's a high school student who thinks she's a goth who thinks she's Xorn who thinks she's Miho.

Wait, when did I get a manga blog?

Wow. It may not quite be a Mind Screw but this is definitely an interesting way to lead the story. What importance does she have to the plot, though?
