superheroes in prose?

I don't mean, like, a book about Batman or one-off stories like Soon I Will Be Invincible. I mean an original hero in serialized non-graphic novel form.

Because I thought of a pretty great charrie the other day, but my art skills are pretty terrible.

You might find this site informative. He's a copywriter/assistant editor who's trying to get a comic book series published. I think it was a novel in one earlier incarnation.

Yeah, but that is a pet peeve of mine. I like the over-the-top silliness. If I had to tone it down, I'd be sad.
