Hope it works out well for you! ...Otherwise, I'll feel personally responsible. :/
On an unrelated note, I just re-read my post and realized how much potential humor there is regarding "rental horses".

Also, I am disallowing you from feeling responsible for my performance as a DM!
DM: The stable master is wearing an obnoxious plaid surcoat and a cheesy grin. He comes out of one of the stalls leading an old and sad looking mount with large ears. Make a Knowledge: Nature check.
PLAYER 1: I got... a three. :(
PLAYER 2: Fourteen.
DM: With a fourteen, you know that it's a donkey. The stable master says, "this one might not look like much, boys, but he's reliable! Used to belong to an old seamstress here in town who only rode 'im occasionally. Barely any miles on him!"
PLAYER 2: Okay, I guess I'm going to say that I know it's a donkey.
DM: Unfazed, he says, "lots of folks make that mistake! This fella's half-mule. He's got long ears like an ass, sure, but he's really three-quarters horse!" Which is three times as good as a quarterhorse, if you think about it!
PLAYER 1: Mules are sterile.
DM: "Hey! Who's the stable master here, son?"

"what the complete, unabridged, 4k ultra HD fuck with bonus features" - Mark Von LewisIf you can come up with stuff like that on the fly, color me impressed.
I would say that most of the sessions I run are 15% combat, and 85% me drinking alcohol and coming up with stupid stuff like that.

Dammit!
Let me guess: you're below the legal drinking age?
That's okay. The real secret is knowing your game world, being able to figure out what sorts of things are likely to happen in it, and not worrying about whether or not it's cool, epic, or (insert your own adjective here). I just prefer to DM while lightly inebriated because I have a tendency to overthink things otherwise.

DAMMIT!
And no, I'm just straight-edge is all.
"Suddenly, a level 1 Ninja bursts through the window!"
... Ninjas ain't what they used to be.
I mean. Thanks for the advice! I'll try to take some notes along those lines, then!
