How to create your own troper page
Note: if you started with a handle beginning with a number or containing an non-alphanumeric, you need to make a handle beginning with a letter and only containing alphanumerics.
- Click on your name in a forum post of yours or click your profile picture on the upper right corner of the screen and select "Troper Page" from the drop down menu.
- On the page that appears, click on the edit button.
- Edit the page. If you want markup help, click on the "Show Markup Help" button.
- Save your changes.
- You're done. Congratulations! Give yourself a cookie.
I would also like to know how can I add tropes to my page.
Thanks a lot in advance!

Yeeeeeaaaaah, I tried to make a page and ended up making a mainspace page instead. You'd think that after two years of working as a staffer on a wiki I'd have the sense to check the community for instructions first. As it is, how does one delete a page, or get the process started?
EDIT: Orrrrrrr not. Now I'm just confused.

Making a mainspace page is actually the preferred way when you don't have the same username as a trope or series. In fact, when you click on your username in the fora, that's where it takes you to. So don't worry about it :o
Ah, ninjedited.

Productivity is for people without internet connections. -Count DorkuThanks a lot, Tzetze!
It's been bugging me for a while but since my name has an _ in it linking to it doesn't work out very well and when I created the page it simply removed the _. This normally wouldn't be a problem except with contributor's pages it links to your recent edits and my page links to a blank list of edits. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this I'd be thankful if not thanks anyway.
Unclouded TJ: Taking Bunny-Ears Lawyer too literally.Here. When you click on the link in your contributor page, just add the underscore back into the URL.
Productivity is for people without internet connections. -Count DorkuAlright thanks for the heads up I thought it'd be a bit more complicated than just adding an underscore. Fixed my page accordingly.
Unclouded TJ: Taking Bunny-Ears Lawyer too literally.OK, I have been getting use to the idea of this site, and I am interested in getting myself a contributor's page. Sadly, I have no knowledge of getting one, plus that I have no clue as to how am I going to get my name on the Contributor's List if there is no edit button. How am I going to do that if I want to be part of this?
EDIT: OK, I got the page, now how do I add my name to the list?

Productivity is for people without internet connections. -Count DorkuSame problem, I've been a contributor for a year but I can't figure how to add my name to the Contributor list or edit my profile info. Help would be noice.
Click the Tools button on the left hand side to open up the Tools menu. Click the "set page type button". Select "contributor".
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffMuch thanks, after I posted I clicked my name and worked it from there. I'm just glad that someone besides the cookie "knows me" now!
I think this may just be a post so I get get a link to my name and then I can figure out how to edit it...I think. But I still might need help adding it to the Contributors page if I manage to edit the beautybecks page. Yeah, expect a lot of Buffy Speak from me :P
EDIT: Yay! It worked. *thanks internet and sends happy thoughts to all codemonkeys in the world*

squeeing - It's what I doSo I've been trying to follow all of the various ways and suggestions here, but it's gotten me nowhere. Perhaps the procedures have changed? Eh, this place is kinda confusing now that I've emerged from the shadows of lurkdom to contribute.
Edit: Hmm, well at least I'm partway there now!

1 Make a page for your name.
2 Go to Tools > Set Page Type > choose "contributor".
3 Done. There's a little bot that will automagically add your page to The Contributors.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Oh, how grand! Thanks bunches!
When I go to https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ummwhat, it takes me to a copy of the homepage. It's locked and I can't edit it. /Tropers/ummwhat is the same way. What am I doing wrong? My username is relatively new (a few days), could that be having an effect? I also can't figure out how to add myself to the Contributors list, which I assume has something to do with the reason I can't edit my page.

When he himself might his quietus make with a bare bodkin?Or you can put it in double curly brackets — @/{{ummwhat}} for ummwhat

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.This is most strange; I did as this forum instructed and while I have a page it is not in the contributors and the K Man hotlink in my page doesn't link back to myself but rather a page that is not yet made.
Namespacing issue, fixed it for you. Basically, you need to add Tropers/ or @/ before linking to yourself.
So Tropers/KMan produces K Man.

Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffI fixed that issue while I was waiting. But I am still not on the contributors section.
Tools -> Set Page Type -> Contributor
EDIT: Er, that's done.

Ah, the system changed. You have to set the page type of your page via the tools menu. I did so for you. Cheers!
