The Vampire Chronicles general discussion

So i found a topic about Anne Rice's hatedom but nothing just discussing the VC.

I remember when I first joined here I made a topic (in the Film section I think) defending her and the VC. It just isn't fair to blame her for Twilight in my opinion.

Regardless, this is just a topic I thought deserved being made because...why not. I myself have only fully read Interview with the Vampire but I've been fortunate enough to stumble upon a person who had all the Vampire Chronicles in unabridged audio format. Given my rather shitty eyesight, it would take me forever to get through books of these length.

Right now I'm on Queen of the Damned and this is where a lot of people I talked to said things started to go wrong. Both interview and The Vampire Lestat get a lot of praise but Qot D is said to be a snorefest.

I can sympathize with that notion as I'm pretty bored right now. Daniel is not the most intriguing character out there. Still, there's a lot more to get through and the beginning was alright.

Anyway, I just want to see who else here has read the series? What are your likes and dislikes? Favorite character, book, etc.? Then most hated character, book, etc.?

I miss Lestat. By which I mean I miss the days when editors still kept Rice on her leash.
