www.smbc-comics.com A comic with very mixed quality, it depends a lot on the reader, in a way like XKCD it requires of the reader to have knowledge of the topic presented and to find it humorous to start with. Don't get this comic wrong though, because it has a lot of great quality. 4-5/12-07 is one of my farvorites.

The comic itself also varies a lot in the innocent department, you know really know what you gets, I've been sickened by it sometimes, and others I've found it to be very funny, and maybe a bit to innocent.

I laughed at this one. In fact, I laughed a little too much.

VERY dark.

SMBC is probably my second-favorite webcomic. The archive crawl is hilarious. The only real problem is that sometimes the author tries to make a joke out of Don't Explain the Joke and fails miserably. Where's that one with the prom king, that has like three captions? Dude just tried waaaaay too hard.

Considering he updates daily, it's no real surprise that the jokes aren't consistently funny. But at his best, the comic is wonderful, which is all I for one ask of a webcomic.

@Shrikesnest: I didn't see that as explaining the joke, I saw that as subverting the joke, than de subverting it. Double subversion!

Also, is it just me, or have the new ones been less dark?

Personally, I like that one a lot. It was three rapid fire punchlines based around fully exploiting his own avert-expectations style.

Wait, I just looked that up and apparently Turing was given a choice to either accept the treatment or go to jail. I wonder why he made that choice.

Perhaps so that he could still work on Science.

Or so that he could kill himself.
