I feel like there is some gameplay trope this fits, but it doesn't come to me. However this would be more suited to the "Is this an example?" thread.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.

There's this particular example on Dota 2 NPCs:
- Almighty Janitor: The super-creeps and Mega-creeps, despite how strong they are, are actually only level 1. This is so they give less experience and gold to the enemy team.
As I understand it, this trope's definition of low-ranking refers to rank in an organisation; does it also extend to the literal in-game level of a unit?
