What do you consider yourself a fan of despite having to put up with a lot of shit that frustrates you? The frustrations could be from multiple bad installments, creator/fandom drama, or some combination of those and others.

To keep from being excessively complain-y, please try to keep things limited to what we consider ourselves fans of. Do not use this to bash fans of shows you don't like. You can cite persistent drama as something that frustrates you, but, for the sake of trying to avoid outright drama importation, try to keep details of drama as minimal as possible.

From the top of my head, it's frustrating being a fan of:

  • Korean Pop Music in general: The whole damn industry is plagued by scandals and toxic fans, on top of various other forms of persistent drama. Getting emotionally attached to groups will hurt like fuck when shit happens.
  • Heavy Metal: Similar to above to an extent, plus being home to some of the most notorious gatekeepers on the internet. Fortunately it (usually) doesn't suffer from Contractual Purity as much as K-pop does, though Satanic Panic partially compensates.
  • The Simpsons: The classic era is iconic enough to try to forget that the Seasonal Rot season's exist... until you're forcibly reminded that they do and that the show has been continuing long past its peak.
  • Star Wars: Aside from the prequels and sequels, there is a shitload of other stuff you have to keep up with and probably the single most Broken Base in the history of Broken Bases.

Despite the precautions laid out in the OP, I don't see this going anywhere positive.
