I think it needs the 'father' to return for the plot to work- otherwise it's just Disappeared Dad.
On a related note, how tropeworthy would Deliberately Single Mother be?
A mother may have reasons to be deliberately single, which may be important to the plot, so perhaps.
This deaf, dumb and blind kid sure plays a mean pinball. The title really makes it seem like Disappeared Dad But More So, and is not at all intuitive if it's supposed to be about an absent father coming back into the kid's life. This came up on TRS back in 2010 and others have been concerned over the years that the title is too much of a Take That! See also the oldest version of the page in the Internet Archive.
I've also seen it misused at least once for literal sperm/egg donors, which, well, isn't this trope.
Though, do we have a trope for "characters not otherwise in a relationship have sex specifically and solely to make a baby"? 'Cause until this thread, that's what I would have assumed Glorified Sperm Donor was.

Chosen Conception Partner, or Platonic Co-Parenting if they co-parent without being in a relationship.
I always believed Glorified Sperm Donor to be about absentee fathers, especially ones who make a habit of siring illegitimate children.
However actually reading the page makes it clear this is about a absentee father who is welcomed back into the family.
Would this be a case of a simple description cleanup, or will a TRS be needed.
