Harley — Land of Confusion

"Course not! Ain't nuthin' better to do in this dump..."

She was grinning from ear to ear, but it didn't make her less worried. She'd barely said a word to dollface and the whole world was topsyturvy! There were two-bit actors to the left of her, jumbo plants to the right and a whole bundle of cray-cray in between. The plants especially were bad news. She knew the first Harley had a thing for plants except they didn't have a thing for plants, they had a thing for smoking hot girls dressed as plants and if she was Harley did that mean she had a thing for smoking hot girls dressed as plants?

Nonono! Bad Harley! Not the time or place. The important thing was not getting shot. She wasn't sure how not to get shot, but that gave her more options.

"Start runnin' dollface! Shit's about to get funky!"

She lept through the doors only to fall flat on her face. On purpose of course. A wave of confusion surged through the loading bay, sending those affected into a tizzy. Up was down and left was right, their brains possibly turning to mush. To everyone else she was seeing stars, but she was mostly unhurt.

"Holy-shmoley! Harley's gettin' gnarley-warleeey..."

Cassie || Wayne Manor || Oops.

It wasn't supposed to go like this - she had been trying to get to the Wayne-Powers Building, after some alarming chatter on the streets about the delivery coming in. Something was coming in that could do a lot of damage to people who had nothing else - and, typical of so-called heroes, it sounded like there was going to be no real response about what actually mattered. Maybe they'd prevent the delivery but there was no way to do that without collateral damage.

They had planned to get to the building, steal the delivery out from under the noses of everyone else and make their exit, leaving it one of those unsolved eternal mysteries that plagued Neo-Gotham, like where the fuck that creepy owl nursery rhyme that everyone knows come from, and how did Gotham PD afford to power the Batsignal consistently but couldn't afford better guards at Arkham. One of those mysteries.

Instead they fall into a shadow - and Cassie lands, with a quiet "shit!" on the ground. She hates when she teleports to roof shadows, it never ends well. Big fancy house, big fancy furnishings - and someone picking the lock on the door next to her. They never learned how to pick locks, she never needed to. She blinks at them, for a moment, and then leans against a wall, casting a shadow. "You good? Need a hand?"

Wayne-Powers - Outside

From the chaos of a giant dinosaur woman striking one of the guards, the appearance of what appeared to be someone with a bat cowl, a winged bird man, and of all things a Poison Ivy Alike. He had to pause.

"Terry, get moving, Powers could get away."

"I hate the guy, but I can't just let things go to slag down there!" He protested.

"You put on the cowl, this was your choice."

He sat there, and made a decision, firing the Rocket Boosters he headed in.

"McGinnis?"

"Powers ain't innocent but that doesn't mean many of the guards or employees here deserve to die. More costumed freaks showed up, if I can direct em, I can get things under control."

"...Good luck."

Wings spread wide, in the glow of the moonlight would be enough for many to catch it. The symbol of Gotham's old protector, before he landed on top of a truck. Making a quick snap judgement he drew a batarang and tossed it into the air, it exploded into a loud burst of sound and light.

"Evening folks," Batman said. "Mind if I join this little rumble?"

"We'll work on your one liners later."

Wayne-Powers Interior

The elevator shook as the building was rocked by the chaos outside. Mr. Fixx looked panicked as Powers rubbed his temple a bit.

"Sir?"

"Check your phone Fixx, we'll get security feed."

Fixx pulled it out and checked, security feed showed the utter chaos. "We got costumed freaks outside, vigilantes once more."

"Great... and the vines?"

Fixx smiled. "Easy enough, once I grab my fire gauntlets."

Powers took a deep inhale, and calmed himself. "Good, that is good. We need to get that biotoxin mixed into the nerve gas, send out a few of the heavier units... what did the notes call them? Bane-busters? Pah, needs work on the name."

Fixx nodded and sent out a message, though as the security feed continued, he paused. "Sir, one more thing."

Powers looked over at it, and his eyes widened in shock. "That... no... we... Batman."

"Or some clown dressed like him."

"Well, things just got a lot more interesting."

Wayne-Manor

At the sound of the clicking of old locks, Bruce looked over as his dog Ace suddenly perked up. "What is it boy?"

Ace started to growl a bit, Bruce stood up and grabbed onto his old cane. He was still fairly spry at 67 years, especially with modern medicine. "Mcginnis, I'll be AFK for a bit," he said wandering out.

Ace shot him a look.

"Dick used to use the term all the time, it still fits in a way," Bruce replied.

Intruders, bad enough that the punk kid showed up but this? Life out here was meant to be quiet.

Ymir: Wayne-Powers Loading Bay

Amidst her beatdown of the guard she had tackled into the shadows (really just a light punch to the jaw followed by a spray of webbing to pin him down), the explosion caused Ymir to flinch, which in turn made her scuttle out of the area and halfway up a wall in order to get a better angle on the situation. Her eyes widened as she saw a familiar bat-shaped silhouette, and with a hard swallow she glanced towards one of the trucks and dropped down off of the wall before anyone had a chance to fully register that she had been sticking to it.

Of course, those who had been keeping an eye on her would see it clear as day, but amidst the chaos they might have missed it. Nonetheless, Ymir darted over to one of the trucks, leapt into it (leaving a jagged hole in her wake) and landing on the floor inside the trailer. Upon seeing the biotoxin stored inside, which she had no real context of anyway, she decided to just start whaling on the barrels and crates with her strength—intending to burst the containers so that the substances would start leaking out. An extra kick to the bed of the truck ensured that any spilling biotoxin would find its way onto the ground below, just to be spiteful towards the poor sap who had to clean up the mess later.

Bad idea? Probably. Disruptive? Absolutely. Despite the very likely toxic nature of the... well, biotoxin, Ymir found the whole process therapeutic. The joys of being an absolute scoundrel breaking stuff just to screw with pompous corporate overlords was an incomparable thing, though she did make sure to try and duck out of the way of any Questionably Poisonous Substances leaking out of the containers she was breaking.

If it was in the form of a gas escaping, then she definitely wouldn't stick around.

Outside Wayne-Powers - Vincent

"Shoulda brought a bigger car, by the looks of things." Vincent remarks as he hears gunfire coming from nearby rooftops. "It's like half of Neo-Gotham got invited to this mess. Tell you what, I find someone that needs their ass pulled out of the fire, I'll hit you up, alright?"

The hybrid's tail reaches for the top of the lamppost, pulling him up before he leaps over the fence and wayward vine, and into the docking bay, just as another makes his entrance with a b- Wait, is that Batman?!

"I don't think our hosts are requesting invitations tonight, my man!" He replies to the bat as he nears the truck he's standing on, getting to work on popping the tires with his claws and his tail.

"Look, since that cargo's in such high demand, we might want to make sure none of it falls into the wrong hands, you dig? You got any plans to that end, I'm all ears!" The dinosaur hybrid adds, tearing the grille at the front of the vehicle before ripping the starter out of the engine.

Scarecrow - Loading Bay

Scarecrow had cut a hole big enough in the top of the truck when plants started bursting from the ground. He'd definitely picked the right time to move in; all this chaos, and no one was trying to get in his way.

Closing up his wings and jumping down into the truck, Scarecrow started to grab the biotoxin canisters. With how big they were, he'd informed Powers that he'd most likely only be able to get four out, but thanks to their design, carrying them wouldn't be too difficult, though the vines meant he'd have to change his plans a bit. Strangely though, it took him longer than it should have to remember the plan, like something was getting him all mixed up. He pulled some cables from his belt and hooked them up to two of the canisters, then tucked one more under his free arm before grabbing a final canister. He'd planned to hold all four in his arms, but now Scarecrow needed to be able to use his scythe in case those vines presented a problem.

However, just as he was about to climb back out, Scarecrow heard a loud bang. Unsure of what could have caused it, he peered out of the hole... and was shocked and confused by what he saw.

"Batman!" he gasped. "I thought he was gone for good." He had to get out of there now. As much experience he'd gained in the past year of thieving, Scarecrow knew he had nothing on the man who'd been fighting crime since the days of his namesake.

He wasted no time, Scarecrow unfurled his wings in the direction of the truck doors, the force knocking them open. He then ran out and leapt, taking to the air and readying his scythe for anything that tried to get in his way, person or plant.

Knowing she had to try and get herself out of this crazy mess, the Carpenter slipped into the loading bay amidst the chaos, trying to keep her head down as much as she could. Though she didn't know it, the wave of confusion from Harley was affecting her too, making her struggle to keep her footing and balance as she tried to find her way out without getting shot at or worse.

Once Batman hit the scene, the Carpenter stopped dead in her tracks and stared for a good few seconds before slapping her face a few times. Yep. He was still there.

The Nightingale didn't even look up, momentarily assuming the new voice was in her head.

"Of course we're good Cass, we're the best."

It's when the lock clicks open that she realizes two things. One, the voice followed up with 'need a hand?' which is not something a voice of self-hype would be capable of rendering and two, that wasn't the voice she usually self-hypes in her own head with.

Jurassica - Wayne-Powers, Loading Bay

The guards, predictably, folded like paper. Between her and the other super that had decided to lend a hand, it was no contest.

"Ha! Sick moves, babe." She flashed a smile at the woman with the super speed. When the woman went into one of the trucks to start smashing, Jurassica took another, squatting down to grab it, and with a loud growl and a heave, flipped the entire thing on its side with a horrible crash.

As she hefted her hammer and started smashing the thing into scrap, a few things happened. One, giant vines burst out of the fucking ground, forcing her to dance around them in annoyance. Two, she stumbled as her brain went ever so slightly hazy, like she'd just gotten a buzz, which was weird because she was pretty sure she was immune to most chemicals now.

Three, Batman. She stared a moment, one eye lifting in the manner that suggested she'd be cocking an eyebrow if she had any. Then she scoffed. "Nice suit, did your mom make it for you?" She narrowed her eyes at him. "Everyone knows Batman's gone. And if he came back, he'd be a geezer by now."

Turning back to the shipment, Jurassica continued smashing, pausing only when she noticed the gargoyle man from earlier was taking canisters. Frowning, she grabbed a chunk of scrap metal from the truck, cocked her arm back, and flung it at him.

"Hey asshole, you forgot something!"

Cassies Against Capitalism || Wayne Manor || Who's on First? Yes.

The first thing she hears from the other person is her name - they don't generally shorten it to Cass, but its sometimes easier. Quietly spoken, though, and it puts her on edge immediately. "Have we met?" they ask, voice dry. Oh - and there it is, no recognition, which means that either their name is Cass, or they're speaking to someone over comms.

"Name's Cassie," she says, knowing that it couldn't be used to locate her. She rolls her eyes at the knives - the wall is shadowed, she could get out of here very easily. "Here by accident - I didn't deliberately fall through the overhang. You can go back to picking the lock, now. I'm not going to stop you from robbing some random millionaire."

Scarecrow - Loading Bay

Scarecrow heard something whooshing towards him, and Jurassica's insult confirmed everything he needed to know. He closed his wings around himself, shielding his body when the scrap metal struck. The impact knocked him off-course, forcing him to unfold his wings again and steady himself, but the readout from his helmet assured him that his wings were still functional. Scarecrow then turned around and looked down at Jurassica.

"You're right, I did forget something," he said coldly as he deactivated the blade of his scythe and tucked it under his arm, allowing him to grab a fear gas grenade off his belt. "My parting gift to you for your help." Scarecrow activated the bomb, then tossed it down towards the chaos bellow. "Thank you, but your assistance is no longer required."

Meanwhile, a few halls down from where the chaos was brewing, a wave of confusion washed over everything. Heavy boots stumbled slightly, coming to a stop. The giant figure they belonged to leaned against the wall, clutching her head as if to squeeze out an intrusive thought.

"How did this happen...?" she asked herself, pausing for breath, her respiratory aids making a distinct 'ksssh-rrrk' sound. "What a pain..."

She apparently shook it off, and advanced to the end of the hall, lugging something heavy.

Up on a catwalk overlooking the garage - right above where the embattled shipment was parked, a set of heavy doors slid open with a hiss and a beep.

*CLONK, CLONK, CLONK* went the noise, as Bane stepped into the light, carrying what the military observers in the area would recognize as an SBP500 SAW. In her hands it looked like a toy.

For just a moment, she paused, squinting at each of the assorted 'freaks' in turn, her gaze landing fixated on one 'freak' in particular.

"The Batman...?" she said to herself, a mixture of awe and confusion - anyone close enough might see just a hint of a memory flash in her eyes. Perhaps a holdover of the strange confusion wave that washed over the area previously. Shuddering, she slammed shut her eyes and shook the thought off again. "No. A false idol. Strange man..." she mused aloud, apparently disappointed.

And on that disappointment, the moment was over, and she turned her attention to the intruders gathered around the truck - the two dinosaurs and the shabby-looking speedster in particular. She lifted a finger to her ear, apparently connected to some kind of internal communications network. "Keep them away from the shipment. Do not let them distract you."

And then she opened fire - *PLIPLIPLIPLIPLIPLIPLIPLIPLIPLI* - bullets ricocheting everywhere as she carved a trail of lead, clearly intending to herd the intruders away. If they were normal people - what passed for 'normal' around here - they'd run. If they weren't, then things were bound to get messy. Bane seemed unconcerned either way.

Cain Adamson—Street Outside Wayne-Powers

"You'd certainly think so, wouldn't you? Thank you. You're a nice young man," Cain said approvingly, not seeming to care about Vincent's more dinosaurian modifications and speaking as if he were used to seeing such things. Speaking truthfully, everyone in Neo-Gotham was used to seeing such things nowadays, so perhaps it wouldn't come as a surprise. "I'd be much obliged if you did. Though, they seem to be really going at it in there. I say—do be careful!"

The cabbie's voice was raised momentarily behind Vincent as he left to go help out inside Wayne-Powers, and once he was out of sight, Cain took out a bottle of liquor. However, he didn't intend to drink it. He merely put it on the opposite seat with a few scraps of cloth and his lighter. It might come in handy in a while.

The Arkham Knight- roof

Things were not going as planned, that's for sure. Just before she could aim another shot to the opposing sniper, it was shot right out of her hands! Fuck! She has her pistols at the ready still, but she couldnt deny this bastard isnt just some unprepared goon. Whoever is behind that rifle is an actual proffesional. For better or worse, it's taking her back to her time in service. The strange sudden feeling of amplified adrenaline and anger certainly wasnt helping

Just before she could make her next move, CEELKY's sensors managed to pick up a noise behind her, and she quickly slided to cover before the shots collided with her. More guards? Lovely. She peeked out down and saw not only whatever bioweapons the flyer was dropping, but some tough looking masked woman grabbing heavy weaponry and letting it all loose down below. Fuck, this isnt good. If these people down below are goodies, she needs to return back to her position and help in stopping the sniper and the LMG wielder. Unfortunately this theater suit goon is making it hard to stop.

"Stand down. Whatever pay Powers is giving you isnt worth the blood that'll spill today." A distorted and male sounding voice was heard by King Lear, before she tnen quickly launched herself near Lear with her grappling hook, closing the distance when his ammunution ran out, and once she got close, attempted to hit him with a kick to his groin, followed by a jab to his gut!

Window High Above Loading Bays

Beneath his mask, Deathstroke smiled in satisfaction as the other sniper's rifle was rendered inoperable. Unless they had another one hidden nearby, he could safely focus on the rest of the bedlam below and leave the odd crowned goon to keep the Knight occupied for a bit... He returned his eyes to the ground level and watched as massive vines encircled the entire ground floor of the lot.

"Funny, I don't remember anyone inviting Isely," he muttered to himself, as much in amusement as anything else. Things were certainly getting more interesting by the second. Suddenly, a wave of confusion washed over his mind, causing him to briefly pause, as much out of his confusion at being confused as the base feeling of confusion, itself. However, his mind was many times more adept than a normal person, so even if he hadn't been mostly emotionally dead inside, he was still able to compartmentalize his thoughts and experiences quite easily. Thus, he observed his own feeling of confusion from a clinical distance... and in an instant, realized that it wasn't even his own feeling. Someone else was interfering with his cognition and forcing the feeling of panic onto his psyche. And that realization made him feel something else:

White-hot rage, which quickly cooled to ice-cold desire for retribution at having the sanctum of his mind violated.

There hadn't been mention of a psychic on Powers' payroll, so he couldn't rule out the possibility, but it was also possible that this was simply a troublemaker run amok like some of the other interlopers seemed to be. He would have to inquire with Powers later, if the rest of this little bundle of mayhem didn't reveal the culprit sooner.

It was as he returned to observing the scene after that small interruption that he saw it: the glowing red symbol of the bat, gleaming in the moonlight.

"Ah, there is another..." he declared, following this new Bat's trajectory and actions with interest. The new arrival's suit matched the last known description of The Bat's suit, so perhaps the other sniper had merely been an imitator. Evidently said cape wanted the attention of those gathered, judging from his little fireworks display and loudly projecting his voice for all to hear - at least, it was no trouble for Slade's enhanced hearing to pick up on his words.

"Evening folks; Mind if I join this little rumble?"

"Hm, and yet, not at all the same voice, unless he's deliberately disguising it..." Slade mused to himself. "Another protege, eh? Well, your mentor would have taken the advantage of surprise to attack before the enemy knew what hit them. You have much to learn, young one. Let's see how your reflexes and combat skills measure up..."

As the Nuevo Scarecrow took flight and departed, leaving behind a gift of Fear Gas, Deathstroke took aim at the truer of the two Bats present, and squeezed the trigger once, then twice. The first shrieking red laser went towards the Neo-Bat's head, and the second directly for that unmistakable symbol emblazoned on his chest.

To Vincent, Terry had to stare a bit, he had heard about the new Splicing kick and access to cybernetics work but this... this was something else. His head felt funny, had to be some sort of weird meta down there, read about them in class. Psychic powers weren't anything new, heck a few institutions had dampening helmets. He tried to focus.

"Just keep the trucks from getting any further, try not to die," Batman told Vincent. "This is a bit too chaotic for just... today. Powers is up to something and nothing is good. Try and get your hands on those Dark Knight tools, the stun batons might help."

At the appearance of the new Bane, Terry kicked the rocket boots and darted into the air again. It was at that point he saw the sniper shot, darting his head over to where it came from. He soon set flying right towards it, it wasn't just out of the weird sense of anger he was feeling, getting shot was not helpful at the moment.

"Alright bozo. You took your shot and you missed, my turn."

Flicking out his wrist, an orange tipped batarang unfolded in his hand. Before giving it a toss right at the spot where Deathstroke was, the thing beeping ready to explode.

The DKI Enforcers darted out of the way of Bane's gunfire, one of them radioing in. "Mr. Powers, that freak of yours just started shooting at us!"

"They're on top billing, you're salaried, you'll make do," was Powers's response.

Ymir: Wayne-Powers Loading Bay

For a moment amidst her sabotage, Ymir felt inexplicably confused. Thankfully, she had done a fair amount of damage to the truck's cargo, so as she stumbled out of the hole she had made in the trailer she was able to shake off the feeling without much concern for time. At least, up until Scarecrow threw his fear gas grenade down into the yard, and a hulking woman with a very big gun up on the catwalk above began spooling said gun up to shoot at her and her impromptu new allies.

Ymir, once again, didn't even think. She just jumped. Almost fifty feet straight up into the air, flailing her arms in panic before her brain kicked back into gear at the apex of her jump. She shot two weblines from each wrist to either side of herself—long, ropelike strands that snagged onto the Wayne-Powers building as well as the building across the street—before slamming the two ends together to create a makeshift tightrope, which she promptly scrambled up onto and balanced upon before she could fall down into the fear gas below.

Then, slightly panicking and hyperventilating, her eyes locked onto Bane atop the catwalk, and her jaw set with determination. She promptly began scurrying across the webline over towards the gun-toting woman, almost as speedily as she had been on the ground, before deploying a stinger from her wrist and using it to sever the shorter end of the webline while she was holding onto it. Bracing herself, she swung down with intent to kick Bane from above—pulling her legs back in readiness to extend them right into Bane's upper body once she got near enough.

If she struck true, it'd probably be comparable to being rammed by a truck. If she didn't strike true, then all of that force would be going into the doors or walls behind Bane instead. Which would likely cause Ymir to pay an accidental visit inside the Wayne-Powers building, at least for a moment.

Jurassica - Wayne-Powers, Loading Bay

Instinctively, Jurassica responded to something vaguely grenade-like being thrown at her by leaping away, which was good, because it put her behind the overturned truck just in time for the gunfire to start up.

A whiff of something noxious hit her nose, as the grenade turned out to be gaseous. Smoke bomb? Poison, probably. Fortunately, her altered body was pretty resistant to that kind of thing.

Drawing an oversized handgun from her belt, she snapped off a few return shots at the gunner on the catwalk, though it was evident that the dino-woman was not a seasoned soldier.

Then she blinked, because those bullets looked awfully like syringes, and was that mutagen being splattered on the ground with every shot, reminding her of the white-hot pain they'd stabbed into her veins as she lay strapped to-

Snarling, shaking her head, Jurassica scrunched her eyes shut and opened them to see the world wobbling in and out of focus, like her mind couldn't decide what she was seeing. Oh what the fuck. She mentally grumbled. What kind of absolute psychopath attacked people by drugging them mid-fight?

She'd been willing to let scythe-man get away, because he was obviously not Wayne-Powers and all she cared about up till now was making sure Wayne-Powers didn't keep their hands on this shipment. But now, the beast snarled within for revenge.

Taking aim at the retreating jetpack cape, who now looked to her eyes like a ghoulish scarecrow with black wings, she dumped her clip at the fucker with as much accuracy as she could manage in her enraged state.

King Lear, Rooftop

Lear let out a laugh at the Bat-sniper's demand.

"Oh, you think I'm working for Powers? That's hysterical!" he chuckled. "I'm about as far from being on that man's side as they come!"

Then the Knight shot up close to him and tried to hit him in his most vulnerable spot, an attack which he only just barely managed to dodge, and he blocked the strike to his gut with crossed arms, the strength of the hit knocking him backwards a bit, though he managed to keep his footing.

"I'm loyal to no king or master but myself. The only thing that can make me budge is-"

Then, he spotted the unmistakable silhouette of a figure against the moon, and gasped, loosening up as confusion rocked through mind, both naturally generated and (though he didn't know it) caused by Harley.

"BATMAN?!!?"

This was...this was impossible! Batman couldn't be back! It couldn't be! And yet, there he was, swooping down to join the fray below which was growing ever more chaotic. He had to get a closer look at this. He grabbed his nearby hang-glider, and made a run for the edge of the roof. If the Knight didn't stop him, he was going to make a dramatic leap into the air.

Harley — Carnival of Fear

Huh. That wasn't supposed to happen. She wasn't sure what was supposed to happen, but she thought it'd be something good. Instead it got worse! She should have known it'd be worse. No matter what she did she made things worse. What was she even good for?

She'd barely sat up when the fear gas hit. She comically held her breath, covering her mouth with her hand, hammering her throat as she turned blue.

It wasn't enough.

She sputtered and gasped, the gas taking its hold. The world began to spin, but so did she. With each new dizzy rotation the bay gave way, turning into something twisted. There were no guards or do-gooders, only angry villagers, armed with torches and pitchforks. They rattled their tools, shouting and screaming, bearing their fangs as they howled.

f R e A k! l O s E r!! f A i L u R e!!!

"Shut up..."

The scene changed. The world became more concrete, resembling a demented circus. The villagers traded their torches for peanuts, their screams for laughter, pelting and heckling neverending...

"Shaddup..."

This wasn't real. She knew this wasn't real. Not enough empty seats for one thing. But it was real enough. She cradled her head with one hand, grabbed her blaster with the other. She cut loose, blasting anyone she could see, drenching the bay in a sea of fear.

"Shaddupshaddup SHADDUP!!"

Wayne Manor, Casses Against Capitalism

Wait hold on, this girl was also Cassie? No way, this had to be some kind of ploy; a psychic trying to play games with her? The Nightingale tried to fill her head with misremembered lyrics to We Didn't Start The Fire as she gestured with one of the knives.

"Well scamper then. Last thing I need is someone coming to investigate. Besides, the lock's open now."

She nudges the door open without looking, not willing to turn her back on the mystery girl.

The universe has a sense of humor, and dramatic timing.

It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.

Wayne-Powers Loading Bay

As much as she'd like to stay and gawk at the new Batman and the rest of the fighting going on around her, the Carpenter knew that if she stuck around, her luck would eventually run out. And unlike everyone else around here, she didn't have armor or mutations to protect her.

This attempt at fleeing the scene of the crime lasted until the canister of fear gas hit, and once again, the Carpenter stopped dead, seeing something only she was privy to.

"W-What the hell? Mom said...you're supposed to be dead."

Before she knew it, the Carpenter was grabbing a knife from her belt and gripping onto it with dear life, staring dead ahead at...well, there wasn't really anyone in front of her to stare at, but try telling her that. This meant that when she inevitably charged forward and tried to stab at open air, the momentum carried her forward beyond what she was expecting and made her stumble into the nearby wall as a result.

"You don't get to call me your daughter. Not after what you did...!"

Scarecrow - Taking to the Skies

Scarecrow was smirking under his gas mask as he looked at the capes below get caught by his fear gas. All of them were too busy dealing with Deathstroke and Bane to stop him from getting away. His plan had gone perfectly.

And then he suddenly became very, very scared.

"STAY BACK!!!" He screamed out to empty air, his flying becoming away more erratic. Luckily for Scarecrow, this inadvertently meant most of the shots from Jurassica whizzed past him. The few that hit were kept from doing major damage by his suit, but the impact just fueled Scarecrow's panic, and he began swinging his scythe around to try and make the people get away from... wait, but there were no people. Scarecrow was getting scared and confused, and with all his wild swinging, the canister under his arm slipped out and began to fall.

"NO!!" he cried out, as he dove after his loot. While his previous fear had come out of nowhere, the fear of losing a quarter of his extra pay was very real. Scarecrow increased his speed until he was next to the canister, and then he wrapped his arms tightly around it before banking just before he hit the ground. Just barely, as sparks flew up when his wings and the dropped canister scraped the road, and he barely avoided cars that were about to run him down, which honked as he flew back up higher.

As he got farther and farther from the loading bay, Scarecrow began to regain his composure, and he realized something was off about what had just happened. His first thought was that his suit had been compromised and he'd inhaled his own fear gas, but he quickly realized that couldn't be the case; while he'd been struck by immense terror, he hadn't been experiencing any hallucinations. And the effect was fading far too quickly. No, there was something else at Wayne-Powers that had caused this, and Scarecrow was determined to find out what.

After he finished this job, of course.

Vincent - The chase is on

"Stop people from leaving with the merchandise, gotcha!" Vincent responds as a quick analysis of the situation tells him it might be a good idea to get the hell out of there; Between the hulking lady spreading gunfire indiscriminately, the gas spreading around the loading bay -He doesn't know what it is, but he is not keen on finding out- and the inexplicable feeling of confusion mixed with fear, the hybrid decides to play defence from a little further back.

Running for the entrance gate allowing vehicles through the fence, skidding to a halt and giving the motor a swift kick, sparks flying out of the casing as the hit caves it in, making sure the gate isn't opening anytime soon.

His next move quickly makes itself apparent as he hears the scream of the Scarecrow above him, looking up to see him dive after one of his dropped canisters; The dinosaur starts giving chase, first jumping up on the guard post adjacent to the gate, then using his tail to grab a nearby lamppost and slingshot his way up to a roof on the opposite side of the street... The roof which unbeknownst to him, was hosting the confrontation between another Batman lookalike and a man in a venetian mask. And frankly, he just didn't have the time to figure that one out.

"One second, coming through!" Vincent calls out, dipping down into a slide feet first as he passes between the two to avoid being in the line of fire, getting back on his feet without breaking pace to go after the Scarecrow, jumping from roof to roof to keep up with his gliding.

"Excuse me, sir! OSHA inspection! Straw men ain't exempt from wearing PPE!"
