I think the first one is the only good one(II is okay, III is watchable but bad) and I still got chills when the theme kicked in.
Not much to go on, but that looks fun. Or like it has enough carnage to go around, at least.
They make Bacon look malevolent, but I wonder if JGL will turn out to be villainous? Wouldn't be the first time.
I really liked the trailer.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadHere’s a link to a sandbox page if anyone wants to make a draft: Beverly Hills Cop Axel F
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. As long as they keep Axel’s Guile Hero aspects strong. The thing that always set Axel apart from other wild, wisecracking detective characters is that under the antics he’s an extremely intelligent trickster capable of outwitting just as well as outshooting.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Kinda cool murphey is having a career resurgence having grown up with the guy.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Could go either way on this.
I love the original film. 80s classic through and through. The sequel was already starting to strain credibility — Axel has to go back to LA because his sometimes fishing-buddy (and guy who helped him briefly on a case) Bogomil was shot by some random perp. We rolled with it because the chemistry between the main trio and setting/cinematography was good enough to see the storyline through.
III felt like it was spinning its wheels — half the supporting cast was gone, the plot had to make up a very thin excuse for why Axel had to go back yet again (drugs being made in LA are being distributed in Detroit, I think), and the setting of a theme park didn't really feel like it added much to the overall franchise.
I always thought that, from II onwards, they should have just had Axel move to LA permanently and drop the Detroit trappings.
I'm cautiously optimistic for this one. Getting Reiser, Ashton and Reinhold is already a huge plus over III (where it felt like the Power Trio of Axel, Billy and John was neutered), and it seems like it will be more of an action reboot over the previous installment.
Still, I just hope the story's worth the wait. Seems like its telegraphing some of its biggest twists in the trailer.

If I recall correctly, some of the pitches for IV sounded like they revolved around sending Axel from Beverly Hills to Detroit. It seems they shyed away from that.
I made the page for the film: Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F
Here’s the new trailer:
Making a thread for the new Beverly Hills Cop movie with Eddie Murphy coming out next year on Netflix. Joseph Gordon Levitt is playing his partner and it’s supposed to be about him going to rescue his daughter.
No release date, though, so maybe make a sandbox page for it.
