There doesn’t seem to be a thread so I’m making one.

This thread is for the Blumhouse movie The Black Phone directed by Scott Derrickson based upon the short story by Joe Hill. The film was released in 2022 and a sequel is set for 2025.

Deadline has reported the original cast will return for the sequel:

Ok, out of all the possible horror movies from the last few years, this is the last one that needed a sequel.

I’d be interested to see what they do, but I feel the original movie just works great standalone.

Didn't they kill the Grabber and give the kids peace? Like that doesn't seem like the type of ending that leads to room for a sequel.

That said I am interested to see what they do try.

[up] The movie takes place in a world with ghosts. It doesn't seem that hard.

I'd heard Joe Hill had an idea for a sequel, so this news isn't entirely surprising.
