So reviews are good and there are major setups.
Now everyone who skips this movie is gonna be sorry.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Well as to why I love the post-credits scene I'm a huge X-Men & mutantkind fan.
Dunno if I should put this in a spoiler but the Bollywood Musical Planet is hilarious.

This is the third time they've blue-balled me with a tease of the X-Men and now they're saying they're just in another universe. First time Kamala was a mutant. Second time Xavier was in another universe and he got murked by Wanda. This time Monica is in the... FOX universe?
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Reviews are mixed if anything, not just 'good', plenty of people not impressed with it
This hasn't been Zeb Wells' year
…Gonna wait and see what the RT score is. Will not look now, though. Will not look now…
I mean, the first reactions were good so that is what I will force myself to go off of.

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.RT actually doesn't have a score up yet.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonI caught a glimpse. I know.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. This makes the "reveal" of Ralph Boehner in WandaVision even more frustrating. He should have just been the FOX Quicksilver. That's what everyone wanted.
Oissu!Wait, Zeb Wells worked on this as well?
He wrote Ms. Marvel in the comics and the movies? Ughhh....
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. He’s not credited on Wikipedia anymore.
Ugh. Caught a glimpse of a review round up. 54% at 41 reviews. Well, it’s better than Eternals and Quantumania and I liked those alright, so I should still have fun.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Personally I don't put much stock into RT scores either way. I am just going to see the movie and make up my own mind.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadYeah just have fun with the movie, that's all you can do at this point.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.A lot of critics really don’t like it - not every review is negative, but the negative ones are scathing. Several basically say the MCU has officially crossed the Franchise Zombie line. Yeesh.
If the MCU is a franchise zombie, so is James Bond, and that franchise is doing okay.

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Bond is taking a vacation. Maybe Marvel should do the same.
Mileena MadnessUnlikely.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I do agree a break is needed but I am still going to make up my own mind on rather this is a Franchise Zombie or not.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI am wondering how much of the reception is genuine critical analysis and how much are just snobs emboldened by that Variety article desperately wanting the superhero genre to "die".
Whatever, I'll still watch it myself opening day. Heck, I'll probably even like it. Can't be as bad as Secret Invasion, anyway.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonWe should all agree to never speak of secret invasion.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Imagine Rhodey just popping by and everyone mistaking him for a Skrull.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. There are some actual issues I see being brought up. The editing in particular seems pretty poorly done. I've seen it described as "it feels like anything that's off-screen doesn't exist".
How soon can they retcon the worser parts? Like with Age of Ultron and The Dark World? Because when Thor: Ragnarok dropped, it did not waste any time revealing that Thor's infinity stone quest was a bust or that Odin's infinity gauntlet was a fake. And Avengers: Endgame didn't hesitate in revealing that a big part of TDW's stakes could've been resolved in seconds with certain alien gizmos.
I do see from reviews that the goofy tone is off putting for people. I really think marvel needs to tone it down now with the Bathos. This has become a recurring issue.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Yeah, the tone is something Marvel has to work on.

Just got back from watching The Marvels. Personally I liked it, Iman Vellani is still perfect as Kamala Khan & I'm pleased they didn't go for the "don't meet your heroes" angle. The short run time actually works in that there's nothing dragging in the film. Overall, I'd say it would be the 2nd best MCU film this past 2 years. 1st being Guardians of the Galaxy 3 of course.
As for how Secret Invasion ties in to the film. It does not. In fact, because of The Marvels, Secret Invasion ends up sticking out like a really sore thumb in the MCU to the point I can picture some people filing it away as Fanon Discontinuity. The only way Secret Invasion could possibly tie-in to The Marvels is if The Marvels happen 1st long before Secret Invasion.
And for the post-credit scene, it's the only thing that got me standing up to my seat and is personally my favorite Because Kelsey Grammar's back as Hank Mc Coy.
