In the sense of being the setting’s “super team known for their extreme methods and desire to ‘improve’ the world whether the world likes it or not.”
Team name is the New Pantheon. I don’t really have any members specifically established, but the basic idea is their/their leader’s belief that the “gods” of various myths and modern-day religions were actually early accounts of extremely powerful superhumans, combined with a belief that they could do a better job ruling the world than the people currently in charge. At minimum the leader of the group honestly believes they could make the world a better place by ruling it, and brought them together for this reason and keeps the rest in line to some extent, but they’re willing to justify pretty much anything for the greater good and many of the other members have their own reasons for going along with this, some less admirable than others. I feel like at least one member should be a psychopath they keep on a leash. Overall the team can be trusted to protect the world by their definitions, but are widely considered dangerous extremists at best.
