May engineers unlock new threads in workshops?

I found another; engineers are barred from the "add/fix title" option, so we can't, say, fix a broken IP thread title.

Okay, video notes of the day:

• Tristan's Plan: While the trope is being discussed and prepped, it never actually shows it happening. Keep?
• Marinette Looks for Adrian: It's unclear to me if the trope requires convincing the love not to leave. It seems that in this scenario, Adrian has no choice and the two are being separated by force.
• Golem: I'm unclear on if the trope is specific to Jewish golems or not, and the video is also a little unclear to me on how the monster got created.
• The Wobble: I'm distracted by the very choppy quality of the animation, and I'm unsure if it's an actual video quality issue or if the show is just like that.

Otherwise, I went through every video except for the ones posted just an hour ago.

• "Tristan's Plan" — This seems to fit The Matchmaker more than Suddenly Suitable Suitor.
• "Marinette Looks for Adrian" — I don't remember if it's from the same troper, but this clip was submitted for this trope previously. I don't really think it fits per the actual description of the trope.
• "Golem" — It fits Improvised Golems better than just Golem to me.

So, is this thread actually private? Because I noticed something sus in the video submissions today and already made a private ATT report, but I want to know if in the future I could just bring such issues to this thread.

• Wands Up for Dumbledore: Series-wide spoilers?
• Aida vs Momoi: Not sure how it fares on NSFW.
• Wakko's America: Duplicates a clip of the same name but is in better quality.

Oh, thanks. I would've done some last night, but I've been a little under the weather lately (nothing too severe, but I wanted to get to bed a little earlier as a result). I need a chance to watch the last two, but the thing about Dumbledore is that his death is one of the most infamous scenes ever because it became a meme. So while it's technically a big spoiler... I'm not sure how many people wouldn't already know of it by now.

Meanwhile, I have a question of my own and it pertains to something we currently don't have the ability to do. Should we be able to discard TLP drafts early like mods can? I know the TLP update is coming eventually, but right now there's so many drafts that keep picking up bombs right off the bat, and I'm always on the TLP, so it'd be a lot more efficient if I could discard the ones that people are using for target practice before things get out of hand.

Okay... looking at Aida vs Momoi, I can see what you mean. It kind of skirts the edge; nothing is necessarily shone, but it's a little... eh... may need to have a mod weigh in. I'll call ~Willbyr since they do video stuff a lot.

"Wakko's America" I'd say accept and then reject the worse quality one.

Just checked the "Aida vs Momoi" video and I'd say it strays a little too far into NSFW territory to use...that's a lot of skin showing. This would be a good one to use as a comparison case for future videos that toe the line.

Did all the submissions up to ones submitted a few hours ago.

Note that from Thursday to late Sunday I'll be away for a wedding. Will have my computer, but don't count on me to be able to do much these next few days.

Doing the current batch; as mentioned, I will not be able to do video stuff until I get back on Sunday.

Notes

• "On an Ice Floe", "Afraid to Lose Mommy" and "The Little Mammoth" have the same symbol in the corner. I assume it's a bug, but wanted to double check to make sure it's not a watermark.
• I'm... Confused by the "Princess Principal" video, because of the Spongebob Transition that I assume wasn't in the original work. It's so distracting from the actual trope.
• "Power of The Super Star" appears to be the ending of the movie. Is it too big a spoiler, or is it enough of a given because of the source material?

• I believe that's a bug in those three videos.
• I'd reject "Princess Principal" for not being terribly clear, plus that transition is definitely out of place.
• The Super Mario movie's recent enough that I'd consider that a spoiler.

Questionable video entries:

• "Kurokamen's actual name" - , I don't think there's enough context about the former name
• "Gortash Becomes Archduke" - , not enough context about the brainwashing in the description and relies on knowing the character

I was planning to do a backlog dive last night and fell asleep. When I have a chance I'll check these ones.

I see the video que becoming backed up a bit. We should look into recruiting more engineers if videos is too much to handle for just the two of you. We don’t want anyone to feel overwhelmed.

Yeah, I've had a particularly busy month and it's made things a bit difficult. I would be happy to have a larger engineer team.

• Kurokamen's actual name: Yeah, I agree. There's also no real emphasis on it at all and the clip spends too long getting to the point.
• Gortash Becomes Archduke: Also agree here, there's not enough context or evidence that he's a bad guy.

True. I feel kind of ashamed when I've stepped up with "oh, I can do it any time", when due to my dayjob more often than not I end up forgetting about the site.

• Nautilodaunt Vent: I find this one kinda hard to understand. Is it just me?
• Showering Fantoccio with love: Does the text in the corner count as a watermark?
• Tilting and Leaning: I don't know if this counts as actual "shapeshifting". Edit: It looks like I accidentally hit "approve" on that one, but it's easy enough to find in the recent list.
• Mr. Thax's Representative: Is it clear enough that they're evil?
