Because the TRS for Luck-Based Mission closed because it didn't have TRS issues, just needs to be cleaned.

The definition for Luck-Based Mission that I'm using for cleaning is "Luck determines if you win the (mini)game".

Definitely keep Pokémon and Mario Party. Those two are very infamous for their Luck-Based Mission natures.

[up] - Other than the Game Corners, how is Pokemon not A.I. Roulette, or Randomly Generated Levels for the Max Lair?

Because it's not all about AI. Pokemon battles alone require luck such as:

  • Being able to land moves.
  • Having those moves do enough damage.
  • Having those moves crit.
  • Having those moves land status conditions.
  • Winning the "speed tie" if one exists.
  • Breaking through your own status conditions.

It's been proven (watch any Pikasprey soft-lock video) that some battles are more or less unwinnable if you don't get literally perfect RNG, and yeah some of these battles are intentionally made hard on the player but Pokemon's coding allows for scenarios where the player cannot progress unless they get ideal rolls every single time.

It goes far beyond trainer and mon AI.

Oh, right. Cleaning out LuckBasedMission.Role Playing Game right now.

Is this Luck-Based Mission or just Action Initiative for the turn order + A.I. Roulette for the move selection?

  • In Xenosaga, ES Levi's special attack Blazing Judgement is an almost-guaranteed One-Hit Kill if it strikes an ES that isn't guarding. Unfortunately, it's entirely possible that the ES he is going to target will simply not get a turn between Margulis activating his Anima Awakening and unleashing the attack.

[up][up] Yeah, speaking from experience, when I was playing Pokémon Sword and Shield's The Isle of Armor final battle against Mustard, his Single Strike Urshifu hit my Hatterene with Poison Jab...only for the Last Chance Hit Point granted from having Maximum Affection at Pokémon Camp to kick in and allowing my Hatterene to finish off Urshifu with a quadruple effective Dazzling Gleam.

Pokémon is very infamous for its luck. Including at the Battle facilities that I've had to delete The Computer Is a Cheating Bastard from using what's stated on the Common Knowledge page.
