They need to make the daughter not just Lydia again though. Grace Randolph brought up the valid concern that Jenna Ortega could be in danger of being regularly type cast if that happened. She's a great choice otherwise though and I think of how she played Tara Carpenter in both Scream (2022) and Scream VI being different from how she was as Wednesday Addams in the show too.
I'm excited that both Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder are back though. Couldn't do it without either of them.

Rather excited.
One of my favorite films and bad guys will Be returning. (Outside of his appearance in teen titans go).
Wonder how They'll explain Keaton ageing?
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I agree I hope that they make her different from Lydia so Jenna doesn't get typecast. I have no doubt that she will kill it either
Same. Beetlejuice is one of my favorite movies and I have been waiting for this sequel for while. As for the aging. I l also wonder how they will explain it.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadUse some of that Marvel deaging CGI, maybe?
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonIf the makeup's good enough, may not have to de-age him. I wouldn't be surprised if they treat Beetlejuice more like how the series portrayed him—and if the show's also canon too. They shouldn't just repeat the first film again.
I mean make up could work especially since I don't know if the film will have the budget for convincing de-aging.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI could have been excited if this had come out during Burton’s peak. Problem is, Burton’s creative mojo has been exhausted for a good 15 years so I don’t really expect much.
Unless he found his mojo back with Wednesday somehow, I haven’t seen that series.
I think he found his mojo back with Wednesday at least to me.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadYeah, I think that Wednesday is Tim Burton's mojo coming back again, although it's quite different from his previous works in the past.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Yeah Jenna Ortega being typecast would suck, but I find it amusing on a meta level she's played Wednesday Adams, and now Lydia Deitz's daughter. She's covering the pop culture goth characters
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationI just hope Lydia's daughter is a differentiable character, and not just Wednesday 2.0.
if this means we get a possible cartoon based off Beetlejuice I'm all for it
New theme music also a box*2. Where Beetlejuice will be an anti-hero with a heart of gold, instead of a villain, and he and Lydia's daughter will be friends.
I am curious about once the second Beetlejuice movie come out, will they have Beetlejuice actually be a much friendlier character than in the first movie or will he still be the villain, like he was in the first movie?
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Interestingly, in the stage version, BJ pulls a Heel–Face Turn, and the true baddie ends up being, of all characters, Juno, the afterlife agent with the tracheotomy scar.
Wasn't it revealed that Juno was Beetlejuice's mother in the stage version?
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Given how these belated sequels tend to play out, I've got a sinking feeling her role is going to be exactly the same as the granddaughter from Edward Scissorhands.
To be fair, Ricardo Montalbán pointed out that being typecast does mean that at least someone wants you for a specific part.
Which is to say, "carving your niche isn't a bad thing even if it's better to be able to go out of it."

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Yeah but Jenna herself has said that she never wants to be typecast. So I don't think she would have taken this role if it was her character being Lydia 2.0.
If they do make Beetlejuice an antihero I wouldn't be surprised if they make the real villain his wife (who is being played by Monica Bellucci) or whoever Willem Dafoe is playing.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup thread"her role is going to be exactly the same as the granddaughter from Edward Scissorhands."
i'm assuming they mean love interest
New theme music also a boxSo, you think they are going to have the 20 year old Ortega play the love interest to the character played by the 71 year old Keaton? To be fair Keaton looks great for his age but I don't see Warner Bros. doing that.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadIf the sequel decides to use the "Deadlier Than Man" trope, it is possible for the wife to be the Big Bad, while Betelgeuse is Demoted to Dragon.
