Man they're really winning the science fair with those facts in the trailer...
You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the midSeems like most of the (surviving) original cast isn't returning.
You and I remember Budapest very differentlySo Chinese actor Wu Jing, the star of the Wolf Warrior movies, is in the movie so it's gonna be a hit in the Chinese market since the previous movie was popular in China.
I'm actually surprised that the Meg is getting a sequel. It's been awhile since we've heard anything about the Meg.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!I didn't like that they kill the shark in the first one. Yeah, it was attacking people, yeah, dumb action movie, but this is a species presumed extinct for eons, dude.
I was just disappointed that Statham didn't do what his book counterpart did and cut out the Meg's heart from the inside. With a fossilized megalodon tooth.

Never thought this movie got a sequel and here we are. Hopefully, it's a fun movie and better than the last movie.
“Boom! Boomboom! Boomboomboom! Bakuage Tire! Gogogo!"Was the first movie a horror comedy as apposed to a straightforward "giant animal monster" movie? This one definitely feels like a horror comedy.
They're having a lot of fun with the schadenfreude of the creature feature genre.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. It wasn't an outright comedy as such but it very much had tongue firmly in cheek and leaned into the ridiculousness.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."The books are insane overly the top nonsense. Like Liopleurodon, megadalon eating a t rex. That not leaning into the batshit insaneness would be a mistake.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Oh for sure, it's pure nonsense but in a good way. Not sure that the film will be particularly faithful plotwise but if it has the same cheesy charm I'm all for it.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."I've honestly never thought of The Meg as a horror or a comedy, just a big dumb fun action movie.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy. So now this upcoming sequel has dinosaurs in the present?
“Boom! Boomboom! Boomboomboom! Bakuage Tire! Gogogo!"Yup, they went all in on the craziness.
You and I remember Budapest very differentlyWell not actual dinosaurs (unless that trailer opening is somehow set in the present day) but prehistoric creatures yes. But then, that's exactly what the Megalodon is too so it's just more-or-less the same thing the series was doing before.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."That trailer screams 'look at how much better we are than Jurassic Park'.
GIVE ME YOUR FACEThe T. rex scene was the opening of the first book and the cover art of some editions. One of the critic blurbs on my old copy was "Two Words: Jurassic Shark!"
I didnt realise these movies were based off of a book series.
Guess the author was just ribbing on Michael Crichton.
GIVE ME YOUR FACEInternational Trailer, showing some more footage of the other creatures from the books aside from the titular Megalodons.
Watch SymphogearThe trailer made me laugh when I saw it in the theater. Making me want to go check out the first movie now.
Was the first movie a comedy too? O.o This one looks…utterly not serious.
Uh the books are meant to be cheesy. It's basically an old School B movie with better effects.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I mean it's not played as a farce or anything but it is tongue in cheek? Aware of it's own ludicrousness. I'm not sure what the right term is. it's silly and knows it but it doesn't like wink at the screen or anything.
The sequel to the Film of the Book, The Meg, now has a Trailer:
As someone who's always loved Sharks, I will see this when it comes out on August 4th
